Been to movies twice this week...saw " Casino Royale" & then got a free double pass to " Eragon"
Man...if you've ever wondered what would happen if SW & LOTR collided...watch this movie. It was SO SO like SW , but with orc type things, oh, and a dragon....simple farm boy, parents murdered, girl to save from ruling tyrant....an Empire to overthrow....sound like anything else 
Having said that though, it was pretty good & the dragon v dragon scene at the end was extremely well done.
As for Casino Royale... I hadn't seen the original so had nothing to compare it with but this one was good, very good. Daniel Craig was an excellent Bond & the torture scene was...well....funny actually ( unless it was yourself of course *lol*)
If you've seen a movie....let us know what you thought of it, it might prompt others to see it perhaps

Went and saw Eragon.
Totally agree with you M-S  ... too many similarities to SW. That had me laughing!! Also the "sequel" teaser at the very end was very, very transparent!
The best thing about it was the FX ... but it was an easy movie to watch. Didn't have to concentrate too hard!

Saw Casino Royale on Monday....  Not impressed
It wasnt a bad film, but it wasnt what I expect from a Bond film, more what I expect from the World Poker Tour...

I enjoyed it, but was disappointed it was so similar. MS and I were laughing all through the film!
On the other hand, I loved Casino Royale. I thought it was very true to Bond and what he should be. The action was amazing, the script was very good and not overdone (like Die Another Day was), the opening song was marvellous, and the opening sequence was awesome. All in all, I really loved it, and I think he makes a great Bond.

was anyone else smirking when in Eragon, Luke...errh.. I mean Eragon was looking away to the sunset... I mean ...Man !!!... I was sure there were going to be twin suns then

Having read "Eragon" and now reading the next one "Eldest" i want to see it but i thought the same thing when i was reading the book, lots of bits and pieces from SW, LOTR and other similar books so says Evil_rex who has a vast collection of sci-fi/fantasy books..
planning on seeing both movies over the holiday period

cool.as long as it doesn't have 5 sequels...... and those sequels dont go for 4 hours each.....
That's what a LotR/SW mix would get you. five four hour sequels...

ummm.. i guess thats what you get when a 15 year old boy writes a sci-fi novel..
lots of influences make up the book, i am suprised he got away with so many similarities between Eragon and LOTR

Saw Eragon today. I wish you'd hidden your Jamie Oliver comments Toddi. I kept waiting for Eragon to say everything was 'pukka'.
And its nothing like Star Wars I mean, George cut out the Luke and Biggs scene on Tatooine, from ANH, whereas Ergaon kept it in (watch out for it early in the film where the cousin says he's going to jump ship and join the Rebel Alliance, or at least that's what I heard)
