TK1571 posted: didnt mind Transformers, effects were good but towards the end it was hard to pick the diff transformers with so much stuff going on...
What TK said. Great fun for the first hour and a half. Actually was very funny, quite a few in jokes. No suspense or hiding of the Transformers, just cartoon fun from beginning to end. Got a little trying toward the end, the direction could have been a little more 'open' in the battle scenes toward the end. You just know they were holding back a little until the inevitable sequel.
As for Megan Fox...no comment...

Saw Order Of The Phoenix this afternoon.
Even darker tone to the film this time. I thought it was very suspensful. Loved the exciting camera techniques and I really enjoyed the atmosphere of certain scenes. The special effects were awesome, as expected.
I didn't fully understand parts because I haven't reached that book in the series yet (frustrating!) - because of this, I am ignorant to what was missed out, and thus cannot comment on how 'faithful' the film was in relation to the book.
It was an enjoyable escape from the huge amount of school work and stress I have at the moment.
Giving it .

I watched Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix with Sabre on Sunday
My Verdict: disappointing....
I found that it missed large parts of the book. It ignored major facts from the book and there was no screaming portrait (one of my favourite minor characters), as well as the house elf being in only one scene.
Also, might i add, i would have thought for a movie entitled the Order of the Phoenix it would have more than two scenes containing the Order of the Phoenix
BUT, in the movies defence. there were one or two scenes that left me in awe. or.... maybe just one.

I guess with these films, you need to almost ignore the books and take them for what they are. In that way they do work quite well and have been getting better. I like how in interview the actors always say 'it's the best one we've done', but in this series, they've all improved. I might watch Goblet again tonight or tomorrow to get me ready for tomorrow.
It's probably disappointing that many of the good scenes or characters are removed, but it doesn't bother me any because I haven't read the books yet :P

Saw Harry last night.... DAMN that was good, Two Good Movies in a row :P
It was nice to finally see some real action, instead of the boy magic that we have all been getting used to.
Luna was hilarious

Went with my brother to see advanced screening of DIE HARD 4.0
Comment: John McClane as you remember him, but with less hair
Verdict: 8.5/10 from me, really enjoyed this movie, full of action and humour. And the lovely Mary Elizabeth Winstead
"Mai? Asian chick, likes to kick people? Yeah, last time I saw her she was at the bottom of an elevator shaft with an SUV rammed up her @$$."
The whole 'Command Centre' scene is hilarious too and full of SW If you look hard enough at the screens, Warlock is currently watching a Fett action figure on eBay

I haven't seen anything at the movies since Ratatoulle, which I did enjoy.
I really liked Die Hard 4.0 as well. Saw it on the super huge IMAX screen at Southbank in Brisbane.

Saw "Jumper" this week.
I liked it, it was good to see Anakin Vs Mace...
errhhm, I mean Hayden Vs Samuel L.
The concept was quite good & the effects were very good also.

have seen IRONMAN twice now, once in Gold Class & once normally.
I thought it was excellent !! I didn't know a lot about IronMan as I'm more of a DC fan than Marvel, but it was good very good. Perhaps not knowing what to expect helped the enjoyment.
I was worried about Robert Downey Jnr as Tony Stark, usually I think it's better if the lead is a relative unknown, but Robert's life seems to parallel Tony's & there is a likeness there. It was a good choice I think.
The story was well written & there was some good humour in it. The effects were great & the scene where he returns to Afghanistan as Iron Man made me go WOW !!
All in all a really good movie.

Iron Man missed the mark, IMO. It had moments of being fantastic, but when I could sit there and predict what was going to happen, it lost it's shine. The humour helped lots with it's general appeal though.
Most outstanding performance would have to go to Jeff Bridges though! Brilliantly unrecognisable initially!

Well, went to Indiana Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull tonight.
Excellent !!!
Was everything I was hoping for & more !!
There was everything that you would expect in an Indiana Jones movie ! Action, adventure, comedy & a great story.
It was great to see Marion again & Mutt wasn't as annoying as I expected, in fact his character was quite well written. If you liked the other Indy movies I don't know how you couldn't like this one.
I was worried that Harrison might not be able to pull it off after all these years, but he was awesome as always. There was the obligitory SW reference*lol*
Excellent, excellent movie.

As much as i hate to say this, nearly everything listed above was much the cause of my sleepless night. I don't usually walk out of a movie confused, much less feel betrayed by someone i owe much of my childhood happiness too. I remember thinking i felt very uneasy about the trailer with it's very second rate CGI work, but talked myself out of the doubt, having seen Iron man the fortnight before. ILM was heavily involved in that (according to the credits) and that CGI was some of the best i have ever seen, so what did i have to worry about right?
I wish now that i hadn't gone and seen this, i really do. Initially i missed the Nazis, then Indy survived seeing a mushroom cloud at point blank range. About the time Indy was given a happy ending with a bristly looking broom in the shower and the Janitor from Scrubs questioning his loyalties is where i sank into my seat. Marlin Brando wannabe turned up with an angry attitude, and the rest is pretty much a blur.
I actually know paritally what is was like the the original SW fans to grow up, wait 20 years for a new one, then pretty much pay to be kicked in the nuts by the great bearded one. What happened to him over the last 20 years that made him lose that unique touch that left a perminant mark on film making forever after? I don't remember the last time it actually hurt to watch a movie like that. Some of my earliest memories are of watching raiders on the tv, wearing a ratty old acoubra and screaming at everyone to not talk through "indiana man"
I hope this franchise is not continued and is left to die quietly in the shade.

Think of it this way, he hasn't really changed & neither has his style, we've all grown up & become jaded by the world surrounding us.
If we viewed these films as we were 20+ years ago, I'd bet we'd have different opinions..... we were KIDS back then. We never considered the quality of the film making or the storyline..
George's legacy has been to give us jaw dropping spfx. He raised the bar & set the standard, unfortunately for him, his viewers have higher expectations...
Personally, I LOVE the prequel films (all of them)
