This year was the first time I've taught year 12. In a subject I'm not an expert in but have wanted to learn more about (Information Technology). I toiled...lots. I learned how to make Relational Databases well (although I discovered too many tricks *after* the students finished the unit). I relearnt how to program. I used ActionScript in Flash - I'm no expert, but some awesome Multimedia Programs were made (ie. they all made games and quizes  ). I marked their work - too slow to get back to them and too often I marked them too tough, but I didn't want them to be scaled down.
So I've waited a month since the exams. Results out today. I've been so worried that they'd all get scaled down.
Nope.
All (bar one who dropped a mark or two) were scaled up. Big time. A 20 (in my first year!), a 19, an 18 (don't know *how* this individual managed that one) and the rest a smattering of Bs and Cs.
You can believe I'm happier than they are right about now

Relational Databases are demon spawn
But congrats on having a student get 20 Skipp!
While we're on this subject, I got A's for both my IT subjects and 90% on the end of year exam to do with those darn relational databases

IT next year for you then?
Year 12 isn't a huge leap from 11 (especially in the RD area).
I use FileMaker Pro (rather Access) so it's actually fun

Well that was the plan, but the IT class of '08 was set to feature lacklustre numbers, and the IT teacher thought less than half the students would pass so the class was scrapped.
Not so happy about that 
But VET IT is still running, so thats a plus
OH, and You Know What's Good??

1 Disc with the new version,1disc with the original US version,the international version and the first directors cut,2 discs of making ofs and behind the scenes and 1 disc with a workprint of the film with alternative music and voiceovers.
So 5 different versions of the same film all up and three different commentary tracks on the new release.

Crows making the NAB cup grand final
not that that means alot- bearing in mind Carlton's recent success in the pre season only to go onto disasterous regular season, but still it's nice & it would be good if we could bank another flag. The money is extremely good this year. The loser gets nearly what last years winner recieved.
