Not sure if you guys read theforce.net news at the bottom of the page, but this was us:

Boy With Cancer Gets Special SW Birthday

Check out the video clip on WCCO's page. It was a special day, to say the least.

Finally got a chance to check this out. Even went over to your boards to read the planning parts.

A FANTASTIC effort by charitable Star Wars fans for a most worthwhile event.

Rebels and Imperials really came together for this.

I wish I could have joined you.

Jamie, much thanks for sharing.

Ed

OK, here is a quick and easy follow-up to my visit to
The Cincinnati Pops / John Williams Concert,
where the beloved conductor of over 30 years, Erich Kunzel,
died a week before hand.

It is on the Ohio Garrison boards,
and
at this time, you should not need a sign-in to just wander over and read.

The entire thread (which I started) is kinda a report on my trip/visit.

Yes, many photo-s to kinda help you visualize things (or not too wordy)

just click here,

http://www.ohio501st.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=7811

While I did not get a chance to actually troop, I still had a very fun time,

which included meeting,

The Exalted_1
from these very boards
who, made me aware of the concert in the first place,

a link to that thread, and my photo thank you to him can be found there.

Hope someone checks this out and has fun.

Ed

Excellent work, MT. Your posts on the Ohio 501st boards really made me feel like I was there. The Music Hall is most impressive, especially the outside. It could easily be confused for a cathedral, I think. I see that per Wikipedia, it is a National Historic Landmark.

Good work on the reports, that was very interesting reading.

Thanks TW,

I was also trying out my theroies of trying to get SW fans from different areas,
to intermingle more as they truely have more than they know in common,
and often let boundries both real and imagined get in the way of that at times.

In other news,

tried to convert more non-fans, but good friends, into Star Wars fans,

The plan went off pretty well,

Invite them over for dinner,
(and tell them it is a puzzle dinner)

or,

normally, we hold a lot of singing (karaoke) get-to-gethers,
and this time it was just a smaller event with a puzzle being
the activity.

Thus, I invited over mostly the non-singers,
who must normally just sit and watch the singers (not me, I just KJ)

and so, they were all up for a party of non-singing.

then......I spring STAR WARS on them,

and got them to (reaaly, I did almost no work at all)
to put together a STAR WARS Lego kit.

It was the one that becomes a

which is not an easy one with over 1000 pcs,

now if it was only re-mote control as well.

Speaking of robots,
we managed to scare the living life out of one of the girl guests,

evendently, she had never seen a droid (i-robot) before,

and so, when it woke up and drove out from underneath a cabinet,
well,

you know.........screaming and jumping and the much much laughing....

sure, there are lol cats, but some of the roomba videos
of cats vs roomba, are really kinda just as silly.

Will be roaming the streets inf INDIANA,
starting Thursday, and so, my internet time
may be sporadic.

IU, homecomming this weekend in Bloomington,
and,
a hike in the woods with STAR WARS fans
(nothing better than a scary little hike in the woods with STAR WARS fans)
followed by,
yet another Hoosier Alliance meeting,

So, I am kinda combining some stuff there, as last year,
it did not work out that way, as the HA in the past has avoided
homecoming weekend for HA meetings.

I will try to include you guys in the exciting pod-cast,
then after I recover from that,
time to get ready for Halloween.

more, on the trip after the trip......seems to make sense, I think thinking

In other fun news, this is from the midwest garrison boards,

It is a little old, and some of you may have heard it before,

but my guess is that some here may find this to be just their cup of tea.

Greetings,

from the Monroe Couunty Library,

in

Bloomington, IN.

where it is about 1-hour before the
Homecomming Parade, and I am only 2 blocks from
where it ends up for the pep rally
in front of the "Sample Gates"

My lap top is locked up in the car and
locked up to the car, and in the safest parking spot I know of,

and so, I am writing to you via a public terminal in the library.

Hoosier Alliance meeting tomor, that will be preceded by a
tour out in the woods of McCormicks Creek State Park.
or
the forrest moon walk, (we are the walkers)
as I like to call it.

So obvioiusly I have nothing better to do than blog and post until
Parade time.

Since I have forgotten my KINGS AGE sign in, I am not visiting there
while waiting, must wait for later when my lap-top auto signs me in,

Speaking of Kings age, think I will now go over to that thread to
continue my thnoughts and post some more grin .

Thoughts on this news item posted on theforce.net today?

http://www.theforce.net/latestnews/story/New_SW_Trilogy_In_3D_Being_Considered_127182.asp

I will believe it when I see it of course, but I do think this is interesting:

"Lucas will be producing and NOT directing these new episodes apparently!"

I know this is "new trilogy" talk is all just speculation and rumor, but I can't help but think that this specific point (Lucas supervising in a more hands-off manner) is the future of the Star Wars saga. Certainly there will be other SW movies SOMEDAY, the series is just too rich to not be expanded (or, shudder, remade) by someone, sometime. It seems like this would be a good way to do it.
