Sounds good. I think a raffle would work best. We need to come up with a charity too. I can make some fliers but, need someone to email one to me. Are you willing to part with a C3 Vader? What other figures are you looking to part with? Email me offline and maybe we can talk.

I found a Vader balloon at Lowe's on 10th street. Thought about getting one for the table display. Looks pretty big. Hope others can join us. Is someone thinking about doing something in Cruces that night? Hope to hear from others on this matter.

Well I am not planning on parting with the C3 Vader, just thinking about bringing it to display. The only thing I am really okay with getting rid of is the Luke Hamilton plate. But I am going to go buy some stuff for the raffle and stuff. Right now I think I will probably go pick up four or five figures and maybe some Mpire figures and Attacktics sets. I think that would work.

I understand. I will bring the series 1 Titanium ship set and maybe some other stuff, for the raffle. I can pick up some raffle tickets from Staples, unless you have some already or another idea. I could always make up some on my computer. Any ideas for a charity? I am going to contact Walmart and see what they say about making an appearance when the DVD is released.

Thanks for posting that Norvon. I saw them and they are great. I kind of wish there had been more interaction with Padme & Anakin or Padme & Obi-wan though but oh well.

I'm hoping there are more than just what was shown there. Less than a month and we will find out.

Yes, thank you for the link. I will take care of the raffle tickets for Hastings it is no problem. I was thinking about the whole charity thing this weekend and really thought maybe it would be a good idea to start by funding our fan force a little. That way in the future when we do these types of things we can just take money for the group fund instead of everyone paying out of the pocket. We just have our treasurer open an account just for the group. If anyone doesn't think this is a good idea, just say so. I was also thinking if you do go with a charity that the Red Cross might be the smart choice this time around due to all the work still going on after the hurricanes.

That sounds good but, I don't know if we can keep part of the money we raise for ourselves. Does anyone know if we can? I know other clubs that are simular are not allowed to keep any. Most fan clubs are non profit. I don't know if the Fan Force clubs are or not. It would be good to have some money for next time. Just my thoughts here.
The Red Cross sounds like a good charity. What does everyone else think?

Have you contacted Alamogordo Hastings yet? If so, what did they say? I am going to contact Walmart this week to see if it would be okay to show up in costume, when the DVD is released. I have secured a life sized R2D2 drink cooler to bring to Hastings on 31 Oct. That should be pretty cool and help attract attention too. I should also have some other Star Wars related displays to bring along too.

The Red Cross sounds like a good charity. What does everyone else think?
"A non-profit organization includes a club, society or association organized and operated solely for social welfare, civic improvement, pleasure or recreation, or for any other purpose except for profit, no part of the income of which is payable to, or is otherwise available for the personal benefit of, any proprietor, member or shareholder."
Many clubs raise their funds thru the use of dues and membership fees etc. It gets a bit sticky if you are soliciting funds from outsiders for your club. MosAlba hasn't started any dues or anything, we rely on whatever people can pitch in etc. to cover expenses. I'm not sure the official stance of FF, but I'd be on the safe side and raise money for charity only.

Sorry I forgot to post this the other day. Hastings has no problem with us setting up whatever outside as long as we don't sell anything. So raffle tickets are out of the question but we still can pass out fliers and do little giveaways. They just asked me to call back next week to verify there will be no change to the release date, which we all know wont change but they don't realize that I guess. The other thing they said is that they don't believe there will be much of a turnout for the midnight release and suggested we do it during that day. I say still go with midnight, but I am off all day on the 1st so I good either way.

Thanks for contacting them. What time do you want to go up there? We can go earlier in the evening, in costume and set up the tables and go later in costumes to get the DVD. I will call Walmart tomorrow and see if it is okay to go up there and get the DVD set at midnight. There might be a better turn out there. I will also ask if I/we can hand out fliers too.
How do you want to do the give-a-ways? We could take donations or can goods for the Red Cross and give them a ticket for the raffle. That way we aren't selling anything.
If you want; everyone that goes to Hastings can come over to my house and hang out until midnight. We could watch a movie of play Star Wars Trivia. Let me know how that all sounds.

Hi all, just wanted to ask if I brought my Qui-Gon lighsaber and my cape (it's black so it's more of a Sith cape) if that would count as dressing up, otherwise I got nuthin'!
