	Welcome to St. Louis Fan Force! Who are we? Fan Force is a world wide group of Star Wars fans. Many cities and regions have their own chapter of Fan Force, and the St. Louis FanForce is St. Louis’ chapter. What do we do? The point of Fan Force is to meet up with your fellow SW fans in a fun and friendly environment. Generally, StL has meeting about once a month. Meeting dates and locations are discussed on these message boards. General meetings are always at family friendly locations, be they public places or private homes. How can I get involved? Easy, just start posting! We always welcome new members to our group. It is best to get to know your fellow members on the boards a bit before you jump into your first meeting. It will make you feel more at ease with us, and us with you. But meetings are important! Having frequent meetings is how we keep our official Fan Force status, plus they are always a lot of fun. You may not be able to make every meeting, Darth Real Life often has something to say about that, but make your best effort. We promise we don’t bite. But meetings are never at times or locations I can make! This is something you can change. Meeting locations and dates are always up for discussion before the final word has been made. If you would like to see a meeting in a specific area (i.e. Illinois instead of Missouri this time) or a certain day and time are really bad for you, say something! We are often really flexible with these things. Realize though, that everyone is as busy as you are and there has to be compromise. Nearly every poster to the St. Louis boards has posted his or her bio on this monster. More recent bios are near the end of the thread. This thread is a good place to start if you would like to get involved in the Fan Force. *Official Movie Discussion Thread* This is StL’s discussion thread of all Non-Star Wars newly released movies. Be careful about spoilers in this thread though. It’s best to either not put them in or black them out (example of black out to come). StL's Official Costuming thread!! The StLFF has a lot of costumers in it. This thread is the place to discuss our current and future projects and post pictures of them. Useful costuming links are also home here. The Star Wars Expanded Universe Discussion Thread Our EU discussion. Again, be careful of spoilers and mindful of the rules posted in the thread. StLFF Socials Occasionally some members of the St. Louis FanForce get together for what we term “Socials.” These are not official events, just little side get togethers, sometimes something we term “Socials” The location of the Socials are usually at a restaurant open to all ages, and all ages are welcome to attend (just not drink ) or other fun things to do around the St. Louis area. The Yahoo group This is our listserv for email announcements and uploading pictures. Occasionally we sent updates via email this is where we do that. A warning though, any abuse or spam to the system will result in heavily moderated posts. Spoiler Policy A Spoiler is defined by theforce.net as anything that Lucasfilm has not officially released as information. We also abide by this policy on our boards. All Spoilers, be they Star Wars or otherwise, but be posted as such or blacked out. Put in the title of the thread that spoilers will be present before posting it. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action. Mark-Up Codes and Text Black Out Want to know how to make those spiffy links and faces? Head here for instructions on creating colored text, highlighted text, and other fun things. For Faces head here. Use the black highlight to black out Spoilers. The code is [ hl=black ]text[ /hl ] simply take out the spaces to make it look like this. Now you have to highlight it to read it Specific Rules for StLFF Absolutely no discussion on politics or religion is allowed here. If you really feel the need to discuss either head to The Senate Floor. Any threads of this nature will be locked and edited. Be respectful to your fellow user. No flaming or rude remarks. If you are ever in doubt about posting something, don’t. Use an existing thread. Please check to see if your subject has already been brought and post there. Please don’t start a new thread. No cursing allowed. No insulting other posters; no gay bashing or the use of words such as ‘gay’ or ‘retarded’. StL Management StL is run but a leadership circle called the Council. The Council writes the rules for the FanForce, makes all large scale policy, and discusses problems. The Council is headed by the Chapter Rep (CR) who makes all official announcements to the club, but each member of council, including the CR, has an equal voice and vote. The CR is also the official liaison between the FanForce staff (RSAs and GSAs) and the club. A majority vote from the members decides what direction will be taken. Please note that most club business is decided by the club (i.e. Banners, meeting times, dates, locations etc), only certain issues are run through Council. The Regional Support Admin (RSA) is the moderator for the forum. The RSA handles all the board changes, main page postings, banning, editing and the like. An RSA is assigned to a specific area of the world to help the FanForces there grow and flourish. Any huge board issues (technical or needs for modding) go through her. Global Support Admin- Moderator and our general fix it gal. All really big problems and issues go to her. Council Members- CR- Darth_Gangrenous Dagobah_Diva twilek69 jedi_runya Webmaster- SteelLepp Planning, organizing, and executing our website. Who is eligible for Council: You must be 18 years of age to be either CR or council. (CR is as per FF rules, council we decided). Must reside in the St. Louis area (FanForce rules for CR). You must have at least 50 posts to the boards as a whole, most of which are on StLFF (for small amounts). CR must make at least 6 meetings or social events a year. (Social event would be a beer meeting, or board announced get together with more than 4 total official members.) This can be slightly waived at this point, but CR must have been to several meetings in the past and make more in the future. Not going to meetings is grounds for dismissal (see later). Council must make at least 3 meetings a year or 1/4 the total amount of meetings. Again, this can be waived to a point. Nominations: Please use this thread to nominate potential council members or PM them to me if you want to remain relatively anonymous. Self nominations are perfectly fine. If someone who is nominated does not wish to be considered for council either post in the thread or PM me. Make sure it is clear that you are declining the nomination. Chapter Rep: Elections for chapter rep will be held after the elections for council have completed and everyone has accepted the position. There may be a one to two week lag between the Council and CR elections to make sure everyone is on the same page and there are no problems. If any council member does not wish to be considered for CR s/he may say so at this time. That person then is not on the CR "Ballot". CR must attend at least 1/2 of the yearly meetings. Duties of CR and the Council: Must register and participate in Council discussions at the council boards. Organize and plan meetings. They will gather the info and make the arrangements for the meetings (i.e. call places, get times set up etc). This doesn't mean everyone can't suggest places and volunteer to help with stuff. That is the job of every member. But CR and council will make sure all the details are taken care of. CR and council will make the rules of the boards together and the CR will enforce them. Enforcing them means letting the RSA know if there is a problem that needs a ban or edit, and being in contact with an RSA on such issues. CR and council members will swap writing the scrolling banner and writing the information for the main page each month. The person responsible each month will get the scroll bar submitted as soon as meeting/new is announced and decided. The main page info will be submitted within a week to 4 days before the meeting CR will make all announcements from the council decisions. S/He will also act as a "president" of the club and council. The council is like the "senate." Both CR and Council has veto power over the decisions of the other. CR is actually a member of council, but in the event of a tie the CR is the tie breaker. CR and council are required to address any concerns the club has in a timely manner. There will be other duties to be decided and divided up after the new council is formed. People will have more set jobs now though. How and when to remove CR/Council member: If a council member has been MIA for one month and has made no contact with any other member through any means, they will be removed from the council. If the person has made contact and still haven't returned to the boards after 2 months, s/he will be removed from council. If a person needs an extended vacation this is fine as long as it is pre-arranged. If the CR/Council member breaks a law that directly affects his/her ability to be a member of the council, s/he will be removed. (I.e. jail time, threatening/stalking another member). A member can be voted off if s/he flames another member seriously via the designated council communication device. A majority vote must be recieved by the other members before the person is removed. Receiving a long/serious ban from our boards here is grounds for removal. To remove a council member, the council must have a majority vote. If there is a tie, the CR is the tie breaker. To remove the CR, three members of the council must vote his/her removal. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact either Darth_Gangrenous or Jedi_Dajuan anytime.
