I for one find that to be his best score between LITW and The Happening -- The Water Horse I don't much care for. There was quite a good cue in Charlie Wilson's War. "Turning the Tide," maybe it was called.

Unfortunately, I've never heard the music outside the film, but it is certainly its own character in the film and is, as you say, hypnotic.

After seeing WALL•E today, I had to get the album. It has that unique Newman sound and the undeniable charm of WALL•E himself. Definitely a recommended purchase.
