RE: what is your favorite sw video game?
I played the Battlefront demo that came on the 4th disc of the DVD set. I was really not at all impressed. Seemed like one of the worst Star Wars games I'd ever played.
My favorite Star Wars game is probably Jedi Outcast. Jedi Academy was fun because of all the cool stuff you could do with dual and double-edged lightsabers. When Jedi Knight was big, I played that over and over again. I liked KOTOR, but when I went back to start a new game the other day, I was really bored with it. I have only played the demo of Rebel Strike, but I know Rogue Leader was really fun, but hard. I also used to play Super Return of the Jedi for SNES alot, back in the day.

Rogue Leader - Still one of the best games available for the GameCube
Shadows of the Empire - I'm not a big EU supporter... but Dash Rendar is officially TOO AWESOME to not be considered canon(Yes, I actually like to think he was in the Battle of Hoth--just off-camera
)
Galactic Battlegrounds - Well, I do love both Age of Empires and Star Wars, so...
Star Wars Trilogy by SEGA - GREATEST ARCADE GAME. EVER.

First - I haven't played all of the more recent console games, because I think I'd have some that top the charts on my list if I had XBOX or GameCube.
Second, gameplay is foremost to me. It must be fun to play, and not drawn out or too hard that it is frustrating. Arcade action with a decent storyline and enough depth for replayability. Graphics and music factor next.
Ok - the list:
Battlefront
- Sorry to the naysayers. This game is a blast. It is just plain fun. Shoot em up however you so choose and play in some really quality arenas with many many options for replayability. Sure, there are better shooters on the market - but this game is like crack and I'm picking it up over and over and over and over. Excellent music scores from across the Saga and tons of 'yahoo' moments.
Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight and Mysteries of the Sith
- Since I haven't played Outcast or Academy or any of the recents, I have to place this one up here. So many levels with incredible places to explore, and I feel they captured being a Jedi in a game very well. Though I was never really pleased with the dueling aspect of this game, I've had so many hours of fun ripping up the GFFA with blaster and lightsaber alike that I'd be lying if I placed it anywhere else.
X-Wing Alliance
- The last of the TIE Fighter series and by far the most ambitious space flying game put out to date. You have to know how to really fly for this game, and you really need a supercomputer to fully power the graphics this game can deliver - but once your an ace pilot, the fun is limitless. Particularly the ability to go and design your own massive large scale battles with squadrons of X-Wings, TIEs, Interceptors, Star Destroyers, Capital Ships and throw in a Tantive IV for good measure (or any ship from the GFFA). The graphics when fully powered still hold up to any game put out today. And really flying the Millenium Falcon is a thrill of a lifetime.
Rogue Squadron
- Again, I haven't played the recent releases of this series. I have heard nothing but praise. I must say though that the original is shoot-em-up with the true spirit of SW shining through.
Racer Revenge
- I just don't understand how this game didn't do well. It is a lot of fun. Although there are less levels than the original, the graphics, music and gameplay are far better. Albeit, Revenge doesn't stack well against other racing games. Yet if you want to race pods, this is the game. And I managed to pick my copy up for about $8. The original is right behind this one... close enough to tie.
Original stand up Arcade Star Wars
- No explanation needed.
