Actually Im just pretty darn confused on my real identity. Have a vague memory of wearing a turban and gunning down some kids, but yet again I have another memory of being fat and bald and owning a lot of money.

Exactly!
Battle Droids are a good front line, especially with Super Battle Droids to lead the charge. The Republic would have lost eventually had Palpatine not planned the death of Dooku and Grievous.
Think about it - Palpatine set up Dooku's death. If Dooku had led the Separatists without Palpatine planning Republic success then the Separatists could have won. No - would have!

I heard Black Sun played both sides, but because Xixor was just starting to get into power around that time they began to side more with the Republic toward the end of the War.

For the seps? Well Mace Windu said Yoda was sending a battalion of clones to help the wookies on kashyyk. In reality, a battalion is roughly 1200 troops. There was one star destroyer and what looked to be only one droid landing craft. So we can assume that the numbers were about the same.
1200 clones
probably around 500 wookies
1100 droids.
Since Utapau was where Grievous and the Seperatist were located, it probably took more like a division, or 14,000 troops. I only saw about three star destroyers. Then again numbers are probably sketchy at best.
Droids are way better than clones because they are totally loyal. Droids also have no sense of fear.

Well here comes a rather popular arguement.
Clones will go to their death, so fearless Droids don't count.
Yet here is the good thing.
How long does it take for a Clone to be old enough for combat. Half a life time.
How long for a Battle Droid? A few minutes.
Thus Separatist armies are massive in comparison. They loose coz of Sidious.
So Battle Droids come forward in huge numbers, preferable to Clonetroopers. First of all, the Battle Droids are more numerous. There will be more blaster fire from the Battle Droids are they are more, and thus more Clones, who are already in lesser numbers, die.
Super Battle Droids are excellent tanking units, and arent 'stupid'. As shown in Episode 3 they can go about regular tasks as well. So battalions of those are superb.
Droidekas are excellent, even more than Droidekas. No need to explain their perfection.
Crab Droids as soon on Utapau can climb and have an advantage over Clonetroopers.
Droids can do more, and achieve more. Depends on Droid type, but in the end, Droids beat Clones.
Defeat due to Palpy planning it.
