Hi Everyone,

Just where did Yoda get the tools to build the Mechanical Darth Vader that Luke Decapitates on Dagobah?

....or is he some kind of "holodeck" figure like in Star Trek the Next Generation?

The vader seen by luke was really a hallucination. A "vision" if you will.

It was Luke's vision. Lukes face inside the mask was symbolic of Luke's possible fate:replacing his father. Yoda knew that the site was strong in dark side aura and could cause visions. That is all.

theres a whole EU story around the cave if you want to get into it

Yeah, it wasn't like a "robot" or anything. Just an apparition in Luke's mind, a result of the weird Force energy around that tree and cave.
