	is there a grey/white lightsaber? or even a brown one? a bit of a off-topic thing but i still havnt gotten a clear answer as to why jedi shut of their lightsabers when they die. does anyone know? -----signature----- Cowz will rule you ALL

	There is a brown or grey lightsaber, but it's in your imagination. I think the topic of jedi shutting off lightsabers has been on here before. I don't know exactly what a "Dual Phase Lightsaber" does, I couldn't find it in the SWENC in more details, but from its name I conclude that it has two operational modes. Most likely they will change its length. "Frozen Blaster" is what its name says, I guess. I can't remember exactly, but some scientists accomplished to catch electrons in three crossed laser beams, so I guess that the "Frozen Blaster Technology" does something similar to a single blaster shot with a sort of electromagnetic force field or something like that. -----signature----- I am so fat, I need two of anything! ...

	You're correct that dual phase sabers have a switch that can adjust it's length and as I remember Vader's saber in the OT was said to be dual phase in some of the EU even though we never see it used in such a manner on screen. -----signature----- "Peace comes from within. I've got no idea if it's a set length or not, however given that it's supposedly controlled by a knob on Vader's hilt I'd wager a guess that it's adjustable rather than something he simply toggles between. 	I think that there is an activation plate that is touch sensitive, it is at the bottoma half of each lightsaber. Once the saber has been activated via the shinny red button contact with the activation plate is neccesary to keep the blade alight.
