	I've been lurking for a bit and the question you posted convinced me to show myself. To put it simply, I would've been angry and devastated if Solo bit the dust in ROTJ. I would've been an unnecessary loss and Han had always been the regular guy the audience could relate to. Without him, we'd just have Jedi, Sith and aliens running around. And I don't think anyone here in the real world are representatives of any of those categories(well, maybe the alien one, but I digress ). The universe would've become stale. As for Ford's decision to kill Han off in the first place - I think he was in the wrong and ultimately, Lucas made the right decision to keep the character alive. This was the close of the trilogy(back in '83) and after the gloom and doom we got in ESB, this story was supposed to go out on a happy note. And even then, ROTJ is already littered with character deaths. You have Yoda early on the film and Anakin at the end, just to name the big ones. But even then, they were bittersweet deaths because the audience knew that both Yoda and Anakin went on to a better place within the Force. Imagine adding Han into the mix and suddenly, the story comes to a halt. Being part of the Big Three, his death would've weighed too heavily on the other characters and instead of a happy ending, you would be left with the pain and sorrow of losing a loved one. It would've brought the tone of ROTJ way down and at that point in the story, it was not needed. It was time to lift us up after the loss in ESB - not bring us down all over again. -----signature----- "One little spark of inspiration is at the heart of all creation." 	Updated the sig. As for the question that was out there. I am glad that Han did not die, I understand what Harrison was saying though. Star Wars had evolved so much once TESB came out and I think that it would have kept the darkness that was there. However some people love that the tone shifts in ROTJ even with the Emperor because everything is concluded and Han and Leia get together. They were supposed to off Lando and the Falcon and that would have sucked. That's why Han has that line where he says he had a feeling he wasn't gonna see her again. 	Hello all, I really do not want to join, but I would like to hang out if you all do not mind. 1. How do you think you would have felt if Han would have died at the beginning of ROTJ? No, I think it would have ruined the future of Star Wars if Han Solo died at the begaining of ROTJ. Think about it, Leia would be become an old maid. There would be no Jacen or Jaina Solo. Maybe that would have been a good thing. Then Jacen would never turn. Then again, the Yuuzhan Vong would be ruling the galaxy. 2. Do you agree with Harison Ford about Han's death strenthening the story? Why or why not? I think it did. With him being carbon freezed at the end of ESB, it gave Luke and everyone else a chance to grow up some. Remember Luke went back to train and come up with a plan to rescue Han. 	She is teasing me.... Oh, I forgot that interview. I agree somewhat, but not totally. Well, I partially answered that. If Han "Died", then there would be no Jacen or Jania Solo. So I say no on strenthing the movies or up coming books. Leia would have to marry some one else....like me.
