You tell him, Ludo! Never, ever, ever tell Han Solo the odds. He just doesn't want to know.
Yes, Bro, you must be a threadkiller.

We're truning this into a New Hope line by line game...I hope Inty doesn't find out.

Time for some activity. Yes I know Han and Chewie were smugglers so it's only natural that the thread be low key but it's time for some posting.
We all saw Chewbacca in ROTS and though it was a cameo it was still cool. However, how many of you thought you'd see a young Han Solo in the films?

I was a little scared with all the rumors flying around about Han making a cameo in ROTS. I was in the crowd that thought he should stay clear of the PT and I was glad to find out that he was cut from the final script for the film. Chewie was another one that I felt shouldn't have been there, but we all know how that turned out.

Yeah I mean Chewie was there to just be there. Wow Wookies let's throw Chewie in there. I was okay with it. I would not have been happy to see Han as a kid or something. Also, we could really have used some more Kashyyyk battle scenes. The Ewoks got more screen time, c'mon.

That's another thing. To me, it seems like they threw Kashyyyk in there just for the eye candy and to find an excuse to put Chewie in there. Not much happens there to forward the plot and I would've rather that time be spent fleshing out Anakin's turn than putting yet another 'call back' to the OT.
Don't get me wrong, it was great to finally see the Wookiees in action and Chewie among his own kind, but it was just one of those 'meh' moments for me.

That's what I'm sayin'. In fact I think ROTS should have been like ROTK: EE long. I would have loved to see a Kashyyyk battle that was actually a battle instead of showing that there is a battle real quick.
I'm cool with the Falcon being in it too because it was around before Han.

Yeah, I think it was in my 'Art of ROTS' that they may have been toying with the notion of having Han orphaned on Kashyyyk and Chewie or other Wookiees raise him...I'm so glad they didn't go with that!(I mean, look what happened with Boba Fett when they did that him.)

Totally agreed!
Not to mention, I'm quite satisfied with the backstory laid out in the HST. I was never too keen on the whole 'raised by Wookiees' thing anyway. It sounds too much like Tarzan or something and that just doesn't fit Han.

GrandAdmiralFrank, thank you so much fro starting a new topic. I was worried about this club getting too quiet again. Thank you, GrandAdmiralFrank and Hansolo29 for keeping it alive and active.
I also thought the Wookiees deserved a lot more screen time in ROTS.
It's like they were thrown in and thrown out.

Yeah, some people complained that Chewie was thrown in just for a nod to the fans...I agree, I think they should have had more screen time although I liked the lush visuals of Kashyyyk.
I wonder, how did Han learn to understand Chewie? I would imagine it would be difficult to understand Shyriiwook if you were not a Wookiee(or C-3PO
)

Yea, Shyriiwook is quite difficult for a human to learn and understand. If you go by the HST, Han grew up with a female Wookiee named Dewlanna aboard the Trader's Luck, who acted like Han's surrogate mother. She taught him Shyriiwook among other things during his time with Shrike.
