However, despite being a huge Dooku fan, I must admit that I'm not fully convinced he could take out Sidious, either. I think Sidious may have fought Mace half-heartedly anyway, and even Master Yoda could not best him.
I agree on both points.  Sidious was using Dooku, yes, but the apprentice can also use the master in some ways. Dooku was smart enough to realize that he would need Sidious to finish out the plan before taking over. Problem is, Palpatine betrayed Dooku before he was finished taking over the Galaxy. Dooku didn't think that would happen. 
I do think Mace vs. Dooku would be a good duel. If I had to guess who would win, I would say Dooku. Yes, I'll admit I like the Count better than Windu. 
How does everyone feel about having a Count Dooku story contest?
I don't know if I have the time right now. (Finals next week) However, I have written a few Fan-fics and enjoy writing. It might be fun to write something about the Count.

I completely understand, Palpy560. School is why I haven't posted a club roster yet. I'm studying for a test on Friday.
After that, There is no more school for me until after the holidays ar over. During those two weeks, I really want to work on my plans for this club.
BTW, I checked with the Mississippi State Library to see if they had "Yoda: Dark Rendezvous".
They said no.

Heheh, I was wasting time in Books-A-Million once, and floated to the Star Wars section. I was quite tempted to buy Dark Rendezvous, but decided to pass. I did sneak a tiny read of it, though. In case you'd want to avoid a possible spoiler, Yoda and Dooku talking, trying to turn each other to the other side, after Yoda sneaked his way into whereever Dooku was. Yoda asking how turning to the Dark Side would augment the power he already has in the form of leader of the Jedi Order, and Dooku noting how fearsome and near-omnipotent Yoda would become if he fell to the Dark Side.

Sounds exciting.
The thought just occured to me.
What if Count Dooku had turned back to the Light Side of the Force?
What do you think he would have been like?
Personally, I'm glad he didn't return to the Jedi. I think the Dark Side is the best place to be.

I don't think he would have turned back. Unlike Anakin, there wasn't much that Dooku seemed to care about. (That we know of)
However, I think at one time, he was a great Jedi Master. One of the best in the order. I think Yoda was proud of him which might be why he was so angry/upset that Dooku fell to darkness.
That might be why Mace was so quick to deffend him in the opening scenes of Episode II. They were clearly well known to each other at one time as Dooku's "Master Windu." in the arena suggests.
But I think he always had a dark side. What's more, I think Yoda knew this but could never quite control young Dooku's anger. It's rather sad I think. Not quite as epic as Anakin's fall from grace, but along those same lines.

To add to what Palpy560 said, Dooku was simply too proud to turn back, even if he regretted turning. If anything, I think he would have become disillusioned with both the Sith and Jedi Orders, and maybe have gone away on a long, nice, vacation . . .

Okay, let's talk about Serenno, the Count's home world. What a beautiful place!.
Count Dooku's castle is there. However, I think that castle should have been a palace.Only the biggest and best for our top Sith, right?

I was reading about the planet of Serenno, the Count's homeworld.
Its region is the Outer Rim Territories
The system is Serenno, and it has one sun and two moons.
The Awesome place, right? Primary Terrain is Rainforests, mountains and oceans
