I asked Strilo if it was okay to start this topic. I can't believe this woman didn't have her very own thread! Unbeweevable!  Inconceivable! Correct this we must. (If wrong I am, correct me.)
This is the official fan thread for Padme Amidala. The rules for membership are: 1. to follow the TOS; 2. to like Padme; and 3. to post! I got the title idea from Linari_Tanis's title for the thread of another character with whom Padme is closely connected.
Are you in? 
I'll bring my musings from another thread over here...
Padme. What a strong of spirit, generous of soul, intelligent girl-becoming-woman she is! I was so impressed by her as brave, commanding and dignified Queen Amidala and she was very young then. "Impressive, most impressive." I was so impressed by her as the (dare I say) spunky Nubian senator with her "aggressive negotiations" and a kiss on the cheek for her young swain in the heat of battle. I was so impressed by her allowing herself a personal life after so many years of self-sacrifice for the many. Certainly, she still acted as senator and yes her cherished marriage existed dangerously in secret yet...Padme has a growing family of her own now and she wants that. Her first loyalty lies there - for better or for worse. My godmother (Master Jeannie ) tells me, It's not how you die; it's how you live that counts.
Well done, Lady Padme! *sniff*   You're a phenomenal woman.

And I don't say that for reasons that may be obvious to some.

I like her lots.
I do wish Lucas would have let in her political intrigue scenes in ROTS. I know she's pregnant, but I've always found pregnant people to be as strong, only more irritable. That she submits to a pawn of her husband is most disturbing.
I would love to have had the seen with her delivering the senator petition for the chancellor to give up his emergency powers (that occurs in the book). Now THAT is courage. She doesn't have force powers. She doesn't have a military with her. Its just her and the other concerned senators facing someone who has abused his powers. Amidala rocks!

First of all, congratulations on starting the thread Anapad_Nabooine. A Padme thread is long overdue. Anyway, I agree LemmingLord. It would have been great to see some of the more political scenes in ROTS. Also, it would have been nice to have included the deleted scene in AOTC where Padme cites her opposition to the ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC. (sorry had to put caps on that one) The scene showed a very political of her that wasn't seen enough, especially in AOTC and ROTS.

I can't very well say no to a fan club for Padme. She's one of the big three main characters of the PT and mother to two of the three main characters of the OT. And Princess Leia? Same reason.

But minus Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Amidala, Amidala Decoy, Palpatine, Jar-Jar, Nute Gunray, Rune Haako, Sidious, and Darth Maul, PANAKA CANT BE BEAT!!!!!!!!! And Panaka even beats some of those guys!

Ahem....back to the point of the thread....which is to say - oh, yes, I am *certainly* on board here! Padme Amidala is the very definition of a true hero, demonstrating so adeptly that one can be a warrior away from the battlefield as much as on it. Yes, she can fire a pistol with the best of 'em, and when she's backed into a corner - has no other options at her disposal, and it's all for the sake of saving what she most cares about....those she loves, her entire world - then, yes, she'll resort to "aggressive negotiations" - but not before she's tried the diplomatic approach first! She knows that there are many ways to fight a battle....and even in the midst of war, she still has the courage of her convictions to believe that diplomacy could still work, and lives could still be saved....and that takes real strength, for sure and certain. 
It reminds me very much of the Amidala "One Will" tone poem commercial, from TPM....where she says: "There are things I cannot do. I cannot watch while people suffer. I cannot sit when something must be done. I cannot judge those who are different. There are things I cannot do. Run, hide, ignore... There are things I cannot do. But there are certainly things I *will* do." Such strength....such unwavering courage of her convictions....such faith, and such compassion....and it is, of course, just part of what drew Anakin to her so powerfully, why his spirit yearned for hers - because he admired, respected and loved her, not for her early position as queen, then later for her powers as senator - but simply for who she *was*, the strong, devoted and compassionate, beautiful angel he'd always known her to be.
*already adoring this thread* To be sure, yeah, one may wonder why we didn't have one before....but no matter, at least we have one now!
