That was a great video Andé! I promise not to tell about you taking time off from your thesis. grin

BTW, Saw on the news this week that one of the astronauts/cosmonauts now visiting the International Space Station is a Brazilian, who was said to be the first Brazilian in space. However I think Rabé beat him by 7 years - sort of. happy

I couldn't get the vid to work for me either, but it sounds very amusing! tongue Oh Ric... well, I won't say anything else about that, just put my hand on my forehead and shake my head slowly...

Lol, NabooPop, Rabé had him WAY beat! Jeesh, doesn't that guy read the newspapers? wink

And that's awesome about her gown, Ander. I loved her dress at the Oscars, it was my favorite I think... oh the lucky person who gets to buy that! If I had money... mischief

Nothing much else going around here... my zip drive decided to be completely retarded, just when I was about to start posting my Saché story again... so that delays that for Force knows how long. And only if I can get it fixed so that I don't actually lose the story. sad

Anyways, back to pretending I don't have a million other things to do! wink

~Obischick~ peace

Hey, all!

Missing a lot around here, as usual. :~) Sheesh!

Another video? My dear, dear Andé, you amaze again. (Oh, and you'd better get in contact sometime soon. It's been months since I've heard from you! )

I'm being eaten alive by the grading and prepping-lessons monster. Anyone have a good blaster handy?

Anyway, my little "pop in here for no good reason" comment:

Both Corday (and alternate spellings) and Jamillia (and alternate spellings) are in the baby name book we have. Cool, sorta! I'll have to type up what they mean.

I always kinda' thought GL realized what a great group of fans he'd cultivated in having handmaidens, and so he at least toyed with the idea of having them around in each prequel.

I also had a random "What happened to Saché?" thought about the disco ball parade scene at the end of TPM. What if she were undercover in the crowds? Maybe she was doing some protection from the outside work, making sure there were no threats out and about. Just a thought!

I think we should flood the Insider with questions about which handmaidens could have been presumed to have been at the funeral. Besides Ellé and Moteé, it would be neat to think that a few of the Fab Five might have shown up or given some ceremonial duties.

Last random thought (for now): Wouldn't it be cool in the latest book series if Luke or Leia came in contact with one of Padmé's former handmaidens and found out some things about their mother? Now that Padmé-knowledge is apparently fair game in the novels, I'd really love to see that. Really!

GB you are right! We should flood Insider! They talk about all these others, but not the handmaidens!

And I think it would be cool to have Luke and Leia meet a handmaiden. Leia did go to the Senate with her own cousin, one of Sola's girls. There is just so much needed to be said about the handmaidens...

i come bearing news!

1 December, 2006- Nativity will be in theatres. What's Nativity, you may ask. Well, the description in USA Today is as follows: Kiesha Castle-Hughes (Whale Rider) plays the Virgin Mary trekking with Joseph to Bethlehem for the birth of Jesus.

from Queen to the mother of Jesus. i'd say it's a pretty good trade. wink

*is already in line*

Nah, I probabaly won't see it. I wouldn't feel comfortable seeing something like that. But I'm intrested to see how Keisha does. Hopefully she will be nominated at the Academy again... and this time wins! Fingers crossed!

Now I can't be positive that this is true, but it'll be weird seeing Keisha with out some sort of cerimonial make-up. In Whale Rider she had the deep blue desing on her chin, and of course in RotS she had the marks of symmetry yadda yadda yadda. (Correct me if I am wrong)

My English class is currently watching Elizabeth, a movie about Elizabeth I, which somehow gives us a glimpse into the life of Shakspeare(sp?). Its intresting seeing the ladies-in-waiting (which I have reffered to as "handmaidens" coutless times) and knowing how important they were in a queen's life. I know that if I had not read so many of everyone here's great theories and opinions in our ladies beneath the hood I would be less appreciative of the ladies-in-waiting. And because I don't actually know where I am going with this story, I'll wrap it up woth a huge thank you to everyone for opening my eyes on how amazing minor, never talked about charaters can be. hugs
