And I think we'd be better shots than the 501st too!

I can just imagine all of us dressed like that! What do you all think? Should we do it?

All of us, Lady_Eirtae. . . ? raised_brow Can't picture myself in a flame-gown; that would just be . . . wrong. grin

Sunshine: "borrow from the library" -- yeah, perhaps, if they're all out of the first five flicks on your list and you've been feeling too happy and need to bum yourself out a bit. It makes all these allusions to Alien (the first, best one (IMO)), 2001 A Space Odyssey, and Blade Runner, among others, but isn't anywhere near as good as any of them. I mean, it's not a bad movie, but . . . I didn't think it was all that good, overall. It's extremely mediocre, and life is too short to watch mediocre movies, I've determined!

Heard of "the Dead Girl", yeah . . . but so many movies come and go at such velocity anymore that my to-watch list dates back to 2003 or so!

Costumes!! That would be so cool!! I've no idea if I'd be able to sew a proper costume, though. If someone could send me directions on how to sew the flame dress or an easy costume to make like that, I'm sure I could do it, or else convince my mom to do it for me. Heck, that'd make a cool Halloween costume this year for me.lol wink

Sorry Piett...though we could put you in a flame gown *tries very hard not to laugh*

Okay, let me rephrase that. All the FEMALES.

As for gowns, which ones does everyone (yes, guys can comment too) like?

And Lady Padme, there are sites around. I have never done a costume without help before myself, but there is a first time for everything, right? I could put up some links if everyone wants.

Lady_Eirtae: I am sooooo all about doing some kind of costume thing. And if I am, that means my sisters are too, because I will make them. grin As for what costume... well it would be amazingly cool if we were all in the same one, but I think that anyone in any handmaiden costume is bound to be awesome and people may as well have a choice. I personally find the Battlemaiden the easiest to make because they're aren't a lot of detailed velvet imprints or dye jobs or anything going on like the other outfits, but I suppose that depeneds on how detailed you want the costume to be. If you didn't care, the Pre/Post Senate TPM hooded cape thing would probably be the easiest since all you really need is a dark red velvet-ish cape with a big huge hood. Oh, and links would be awesome! happy

Omg, Piett! hypnotized I just had the strangest vision... lol! But you would look so dashing in a flame gown!

Lady_Padme_Organa: like I said above, it's really all about the level of detail you want to put into it. GentleBant actually did this crazy red/orange fade dye job on her dress and it turned out AMAZING! Of course, I would probably fail miserably had I tried something like that, but I think she took a few tries to get it right too. My mom made my littlest sister a fantasic flame gown for Halloween about 8 years ago, when she was 7. It was just different colored panels of printed cotten material. It looked fantastic and my sister was super cute in it. It's sort of more the impression of the costume than what you actually make, I think.

(Of course, my mom told me that, and I'm so spazed out about getting every little detail right that it doesn't help me much. But it might help you! happy )

~Obischick~ peace

Awesome! This means we will just have to do it! I am all for the battlemaiden. You are right, it means less to dye and less imprints (I have no idea how those are done!). Also, I think they are less heavy, which means not as hot. There are so many options though! The capes would be cool, though there are imprints (if we're thinking of the same one).

Hehe...Piett you might be in trouble.

Lady_Padme_Organa, Obischick is right. It does depend on the detail. GentleBant's flame gown was amazing. I don't think that fits in with 'easy' though. Are there any in particular that jump out at you?

Hey! No talking about me when I'm not around.

Wait, if I was around, it wouldn't happen.

/blush

Well, my fault then. :~) The dyeing is a pain, but the actual cut of the flame gown isn't that bad. And there are "paintable" and air-dry dyes from Dharma that would work.

Some ladies from the SoCal Rebel Legion did a group of the flame gowns and went "en masse" to Comic Con. I'll see if I can get permission to repost a pic. I believe there's a link in the "Handmaiden Costumes" thread in the C&P forum here.

We have GOT to do a group at Cel V!

GB I saw the pics of your HM group from the SoCal RL. It looked really nice.

I have the battle outfit, It's not 100% finished though since the lining I ordered for it came in the wrong colour. Anyway I'm not really satisfied with the colour of my outfit, I'm quite limited when it comes what kind of fabrics that I can get hold of and this one is a bit too light and red. here

For C4 I did my custom handmaiden, based on one of the concept sketches from ROTS. tada

Now my all time favourite HM costume is probably the TPM gold one, and I've actually started to research it, so I think that might be my next costume. This time I wont be satisfied unless I find a really good fabric though, so I'm not sure how long time it will take to start it.

Speaking of group photos, any chance that the pics you took (with GB's and Ande's cameras, I think) will be put online soon?

EDIT: This is Knight-Ander, btw. (wrong sock blush )

We always welcome new handmaidens. Welcome! You just have to take the pledge which is...

I, (your name), pledge my full support to ensure that the RHS threads will continue in a fun but clean manner, in order to ensure our respect to the handmaidens whom we admire and adore.

As an official member of this thread, I will give my 100% support in order to make sure that the RHS continues in a fashion that is acceptable to everyone involved.

And of course, we love involved members!

And I was thinking everyone, what about a handmaiden photobucket? I need to upload the pics I have. My camera is missing but I do have those pictures uploaded.
