Actually, you probably couldn't be a handmaiden, but you would most certainly be welcome to be in the RHS. :~) We have men in our group, too! Anyone can appreciate, celebrate, and admire the role these admirable ladies played in the SW universe.
You don't have to take the pledge (yet...:~D ), but feel free to look around, post any questions you might have, and get to know us!

I'm back from the UK. Details and countless photos to follow. Got back two weeks, but still trying to recover. And I have to report back to work tomorrow. Ack!

Some excellent links Lady_Eirtae. I am a big fan of Padawan's Guide myself, although most of the time my costume making consists of me watching all the scenes with that costume in slow motion over and over again.

Yes, we do look cute, don't we? Another pic to add to my rather large photo album at home. (After some digital-manipulation involving the red-eyes, of course. )

True. The food was good, albeit a tad pricey, yet the company was quite enjoyable.:)
And our hostess didn't know what a high-chair was when GB asked for one for baby-Bant (not pictured)!  Only in LA-LA land.

Oh my goodness, these pictures are fantastic! GentleBant and LadyEirtae, thank you so much for uploading them! I’m rolling my eyes at me turning up in every picture around the perimeter of the dinner table. I totally forgot I was running around that night. I’m such a geek. Also, I don’t have too many pics of Monday, so I’m snagging some of yours if that's okay. Neato.
You guys have inspired me to upload all of mine. Yes, I’m totally jumping on the bandwagon. It means you all have to wait for my vacation pictures, but you’ve got some old and new RHS stuff to view now. I scanned some pictures and uploaded photos from all four Celebrations, GB and I at the Rose Parade Rehearsal and Dressing the Galaxy, and Lucas at the Museum of Television and Radio. I didn’t get to FARHSMC or Caserta yet, so that’ll be something else to look forward to. Just head on over to my PhotoBucket Album.
I also made a collage of us at Celebrations I-IV.

And I’m all for costumes for C5. Heck, I think we should aim to book the same hotel as each other. Easier to meet up, plan, and spend time with each other.
Okay, time to spread the word. Has everyone read the news about starwars.com’s fan survey? I got the info via email because I’m a Fan Club member, but it seems everyone can take one. They ask some demographic questions, fan questions, merchandise questions, etc. However, there is a box for free response answers to the question “Is there anything else you’d like to tell us?” Of course, I wrote about our ladies. Basically I said that it’s frustrating that the characters are popular with fans, yet ignored by official departments. I mentioned Sofia, Rose, and Keira. I said there are only so many different pictures we can see of Slave Leia, and may be they should focus on other heroines. Of course, I made it seem all eloquent and smart-like. It’s a quick survey though, so if you guys want to let official channels know about handmaidens, this is a good way to do it. Only if you want to, of course. <Andé waves hand and tries to use Jedi Mind Trick to get everyone to take survey.>
Now I think I’m caught up. Although that will change once school starts on Tuesday. If you have Monday off, everyone have a fantastic Labor Day!
