Happy... Finally Feeling Okay After St. Patrick's Day Day.

...

if that makes any sort of sense at all whatsoever. tongue

Haha Adi, the second I say yay no snow, it snowed. How's that for irony? It's not that I mind the snow so much as the cold.

Welcome Marmida and Shadowfax_! lol Marmida! I definitely love all those costumes too! Especially the green Celebration Dress. There's something about it that's beautiful and cozy at the same time. I must admit, I have a soft spot for the Battlemaiden outfit as well, probably because my sister and I analyzed ( hypnotized )it to death in our quest to recreate them for CII.

As for my favorite character(s), Shadowfax, I'd have to say it's tied between Luke and Leia. Leia probably edges out Luke though, just because I admire her so much. Obi-Wan is also up there, along with the Handmaidens. For me, it was really easy to love the Handmaidens because I saw more of Leia's spirit in them, than I did in Padmé, which is kind of sad in one way, but also opened up this whole knew world of Handmaideness-dom tongue or whatever you would call it.

Watched Pirates a couple nights ago... I always forget how much I love that movie, and can't wait for the next to come out. Anyone else find it mildly amusing that Keira recieved a Best Actress Oscar Nom before Natalie? tongue

Yes, but you know Nat's gonna get one for V for Vendetta. Keira deserved that Nom though.

Well, of course the handmaidens rocked in the movies. Man it is hard to just think of one! Over both trilogies there were some great characters. I love Han's smart alec remarks and cocky attitude. Both Leia and Padme (though she showed it more in TPM and AOTC) were strong females, which is something that sometimes is lacking in movies. When I was little though, I loved R2 because of how funny I thought he was.

EU I would have to say Siri Tachi (she is in a number of books).

Oh and speaking of books, I do not know if any of you read The Last of the Jedi books by Jude Watson. Her most recent one is "Death On Naboo" and you meet some old friends of Padme's, including Typho, Queen Apailana and Padme's grandmother. I know it is not really a handmaiden update, but I thought I would share it anyway.

I thought her performance in V for Vendetta was good, but not that good.

It should be pointed out that Natalie got an Oscar nomination for best supporting actor first, and even though she lost the Oscar, she won the Golden Globe for her role in Closer; Keira didn't win the Golden Globe this year.

As regards to the discussion, my favorite character overall is Luke, with Han and Mara Jade tied for second. happy

I see that movie on Thursday. I have heard you either love it or hate it. Though I could be wrong, that is just what I heard through the grapevine.

Okay, actually I'm not. But I want to be. cry cry cry

But I'm kind of worried, I already have such a distinct personality for Apailana and a history and name and family and all thsat jazz, I don't want to read the book and find out her first name is like, Sarah or something.

As far as favourite characters go, Queen Apailana is my number one. Even though we have very little information on her (hopefully that will be changed with this most recent book!) we do know she was an extremly strong queen who fought for what she believed in until the end. And of course I love Padmé.

As far as favourite handmaidens (so hard to choose) it would be Rabé and Cordé.

I can not wait to see V for Vendetta. So many mixed reviews! tongue

I'm hoping to see V for Vendetta some time in the future, I think it looks quite good. When it comes to favourite characters I have to say Han all the way!!! I've never been too impressed with either Leia or Padmé, except for their fashion sense, so I guess that's one reason why I love the handmaidens since there aren't that many other female characters around.

Ohh, and I saw that Padawan's guide has two new Cordé pics up. pic 1, pic 2

when did that come out? *thought she had all the releases written, underlined, and highlighted on her calendar* i highly doubt they'd name her Sarah. now maybe Sarè or Saraè or something, but Sarah is my sister's name, so that'd be to weird. i might be scarred for life! shock tongue

lol @ Roané. I have to agree with you there, they wouldn't name her Sarah, I just chose the first common girl's name I could think of. tongue

Ooo, I just saw V for Vendetta yesterday. I really liked it! It was very entertaining and I thought Natalie did a good job, too. I must say though, Natalie really needs to eat a sandwich! She was quite ridiculously skinny, I thought! But a good flick overall! happy

As for my favorite character, I've always loved Han. Queen Amidala is one of my favorites too. And I say Queen Amidala because I loved how she was such a strong, determined character in TPM. She was like that a bit in AotC but not at all in RotS. Once they turned her into just Anakin's love interest, they destroyed her character. I'm still rather peeved about that, Mr. Lucas... And I love the handmaidens, of course! Rabé has always been one of my favorites, as has Dormé. happy

Maggie, the incredibly wonderful and sweet woman who runs the Padawan's Guide has her site enabled so that directly linking to pictures is not possible. So no matter what you do, Obi Anne, the links won't work. She has a huge site and bandwidth I know is a concern.

I have those same pictures on my site though, and mine isn't big enough/popular enough for me to need anti-hotlinking!
So here they are:
Corde 1
Corde 2

Though for the record those are not Veronica Segura, but Holly Stringer, as Andé so helpfully told me! happy

Hope that helps! happy
