Im a graphic designer in the making and have been pondering over something for some time. Who designed the star wars typeface? It's a style we all recognize and find instantly familiar regardless of what the letters themselves say. so far in my search I have been unable to discover a name for the mother of this font. so I ask, WHO is the creator of this typeface we've all come to love?

I too am a graphic designer, there is a font called "han solo" that looks like the Star wars logo. I found it once on the internet.

every time somebody reads an opening crawl in a star wars movie, ol' uncle george has to pay me lots 'a money.

lol nice, yeah i've seen that Han Solo type before, but its not the exact original. I found out the guys name is Joseph Gallaeos(sp?) something along those lines but there is no mention of the original typeface name!! agh. frustrating...

Suzy Rice. And the logo was done by hand, so there's no real typeface per say. Although you can download one made by fans long after-the-fact.
