I've read a number of stories where Jedi go to their home planet and even to their families for visits. I am not sure if that is AU or canon though.

I always thought he would go back for a visit. I know under certain circumstances Jedi even married such as to protect their species from extinction.

I'd love to think Yoda went back to see his people. I think it would have helped him to be around family and friends through the centuries as his fellow Jedi became one with the Force. I never really understood that whole "no attachments" rule. The Jedi had attachemnts to each other and, I would think, to beings they encountered throughout the Galaxy.

I think everyone could/would have benefited from keeping in touch with their families.

Jedi having no attachments sure is contradictory. They have a huge palace. They near cry when a fellow Jedi dies - look at Yoda's facial expressions when he realizes Order 66. "Rejoice for those who become one with the force" thinking

Yoda saving OBW and Anakin instead of killing Dooku for instance...

I'm still not sure Yoda would visit his family though - unless to help them in some way... In a way it could be worse for Yoda's family - seeing the son they could never have...

It's not contradictory if you look at attatchments like Lucas seems to which is that compassion are the positive qualities we tend to associate with attatchments such as empathy but 'attatchments' are the negative ones such jealousy.

True, but what about the "rejoice for those who become one with the force" quote?

I heard from Tico he said he had checked in and saw that Kelia was doing a good job with the club. I told him we wanted him to pop in for visits and to hear from him.

Question of the day:

So if Yoda moved next door to you what would he saw about you as a Star Wars fan?

That I can somehow manage to be fanatical about while at the same time being able to stay away from it for very long periods of time, but when I'm not fanatical about Star Wars I'm fanatical about the anime Naruto.

Since I write Yoda stories I think he would feel I have some strange ideas about his life. Maybe be insulted at a couple of my stories. (Darth Yoda)

Darth Yoda is sweet tongue

I hope Yoda would not be judgemental about those who are fans of others. However, I believe he would think it was a strange thing to do - but proud would he be that judged by his size he is not grin

Well if he read my Yoda babysitting story, his eyes would narrow into thin slits before saying "For 800 hundred years have I trained Jedi. Lose control of the younglings I would not." tongue

Seriously, I think Yoda would be amused at my level of interest and then he'd sit me down and give me a nice long lecture on the history of the Jedi, and probably some plot ideas. Which leads me to the next question of the day:

What kind of story do you think Yoda would like to read about himself?

I think Yoda would like a story that showcased his mediation skills. I've read he did not like to use his lightsaber and was a very good negotiator so I think he would enjoy a story where he settled a major dispute and prevented a war from breaking out.

I think so too. Depending on your age, I would think he would juice it up with his good sense of humour wink

If Yoda didn't like to use his lightsaber, imagine how good he could've been had he actually liked it!!! devil

Kelia plot ideas from Yoda sounds good can I sit in?

I think he would like to read about his dealing with his many Padawans over the years and maybe his own padawan ship. After eight hundred years I imagine he forgot a few funny stories.

Question of the day:

What was your first impression of Yoda?

Amusing? Annoying? Witty?

I'm guessing most of us first "met" him in TESB after Luke crash landed in his backyard, which is one of my favorite SW scenes. I loved the way Yoda presented himself as your average curious swamp creature while he sized Luke up, though I can't help but wonder how the scene would have gone if he just came up to Luke and introduced himself.

Overall, I'd say he was very amusing.

When I first saw Yoda in TESB I found him to be a funny, curious, and likable character. I loved how he dug around Luke's stuff and fought with R2 over the light and how he pretended to not be Yoda untill Luke figured it out. Overall he's quite likable and I personally like his methods.

I don't remember my initial thoughts on Yoda too much - I was much too young tongue

However, I think he a wonderful character the way he is introduced in TESB - the PT has ruined that surprise for us - but showed us that he truly was a GRRREAT warrior, even more emotions and reverence to the "war does not make one great" quote.

My initial response to Yoda's character in TESB would be that he is a multi-layered character, much more so than we see in the PT - although there are glimpses, such as the scene with the younglings where we see him in even a new light happy
