New Question:

Now that we've talked about our first impressions of Yoda, I'm curious to know what you thought about his death?

I've heard complaints that the Grand Master of the Jedi Order didn't go out fighting, in a blaze of glory so to speak, but I think when you consider his gentle, humble nature, his death was written perfectly. I'm sure Yoda would have preferred 900 years of peace before becoming one with the Force peacefully in his sleep, but since he didn't get that, I think being able to die peacefully in his bed was the next best thing. happy

I think Yoda's death suits the character perfectly. I wouldn't want Yoda to go out in a blaze of glory - who on Earth should be worthy of killing him? grin

He managed to stay alive just long enough. he wasn't meant to see the New-Republic. His heart lay at protecting the old one, and it broke his heart, I'm sure, that he could not do so cry

Fairly good, but I'm out with a cold - not very Yoda-ish, is it tongue

Yes, this thread surely isn't as active as it could be... perhaps there aren't enough Yoda fans? How embarrasing, how embarrasing...

It seems DRL has reared it's ugly head for all of us, hmmm?

New question:
Do you think Yoda did the right thing by not telling Luke Vader was his father?

That's a tough one for me because I understand how horrified Luke would have been and Yoda needed him to focus on his training because he had to face Vader at some point. But, I think he should have realized Luke would find out sooner or later and it would be much harder not hearing the truth from Ben or him.

I'd like to think Yoda would have told him, had he been given the time he wanted to train Luke. He could have sat him down before sending him off to find Vader and explained the truth. Helping Luke to deal with it would have been an important part of Luke learning to control his emotions, IMHO.

I always wondered why Yoda acted so strange just before Luke walked in the cave. Maybe he was afraid Luke would find out them and it would hurt his training.

Maybe we need a simpler question for these busy times so lets try this.

If Yoda came to dinner what would you cook?

thinking thinking thinking thinking

I'd have to clean out the refrigerator and throw in a bit of everything, I think!

Seriously, Yoda seems like he would enjoy a stew of meat, potatos and veggies. And for dessert?

Green jello!

I figured I would fix a pan of cornbread and a stew of garlic, onions, gingerroot, turnips and cauliflower.

That should strip paint and that is one of the requirements for a Yoda meal.

I think a beer to drink should round it off since beer taste like it could strip paint also.

You'll are welcome to stop by for a bowel and some good conversation about Star Wars of course.

Hmmm....good question CC-1138.

I can't imagine the Jedi would be supportive of hunting unless it was necessary (like for over population or something like that). On the other hand, if they are on a diplomatic mission and offered a meat dish, they probably wouldn't turn it down so it probably depends.

New Question: Celebrating Yoda the teacher. If you could take any class from Yoda, what would it be?

I'd take self defense. If he could teach me to move like he did in ATOC when he fought Dooku, I'd never have to worry about my safety. tongue
