Welcome to a new and exciting SWC game – Star Wars Photoshop!
In response to the hugely successful ‘TGI Photoshop' thread by Andy_Warlol it has been decided to make further use of the JC's obvious genius with Photoshop.
The game is hosted by me, Dark_Jedi_Kenobi. The aim of the game is to produce your best effort at Photoshopping an image, in any Star Wars related way. The game is all about your skills with Photoshop, both technically and creatively.
Rules
1) You may PM myself or any SWC mod at any time with a picture you think would be a good candidate for alteration. The pictures, provided they're within the TOS and have a Star Wars theme, will be added to the list of potentials.
2) Every Friday an image will be posted in the 'SWC Photoshop' thread.
3) Then it's up to you! Do what you will with the images. Just remember that finished images must contain some content from the original selection, and that content must play a critical part in the image. Also, only Star Wars content is acceptable, that includes characters, vehicles, actors, creatures, etc. But in someway they must be related to the SW universe.
4) A maximum of two submissions per user per week please. You may make as many as you want in the thread, but only submit your best two for judging.
5) Users will have until midnight on the Wednesday to submit their entries. If you don't wish to enter an image in the competition, please say so.
6) On the Thursday Dark_Jedi_Kenobi will post in the SWC Photoshop thread providing links to all the entries.
7) Users will then have 24 hours to vote for their favourite. Please PM Dark_Jedi_Kenobi with your vote for your favorite image. Only one vote per user please. You cannot vote for yourself.
8) Each week, the winning artist will receive 48 hours VIPship and the title "SWC Photoshop Winner."

We'll start this first week today, Saturday instead of waiting a whole to begin. In future weeks, I will post the new picture on Friday. Remember, all entries are due by Wednesday and all votes by Thursday night.

No one else submitted for that week and now I've finally got my internet up and running once more. Sorry Eeth, but your entry for that week wasn't TOS appropriate so I can't count it. We'll start the next round this Friday with a new image.

To be honest with everyone, I had the first picture up and only have the one response over a long period of time. The thread fell through the pages quickly, I was under the impression that no one was interested in it so I decided to let it go and come back in a few weeks to see if I could jump start it. Since a few of you seem interested, I’ll post the next picture Friday and maybe we can get a regular game going again.

What is allowed? For example, could we use copyrighted images as parts of our compositions? Are we allowed to composite, or do we need to use just the original image? I guess I'm kind of unclear as to what you're going for here is.
I'm looking forward to finding out, though, so I can hopefully participate!

Sorry I haven't been able to get back to you, my internet has been down often recently. for you final submission, the original image must be there. Meaning you are adding images to that "canvas" image. Think of the first image as your canvas, you are the artist adding to it. Your job is to add anything funny, cool, creative, etc. to that image that you want. The only restriction is that all images must be Star Wars related. any Star Wars imgae is allowed. However, I'm not quite sure what you mean by copyrighted images. If this doesn't answer your question, please respond.

Thanks for the reply!
By copyrighted, I mainly mean things from the Star Wars films, but I also mean any images that have been done by other people. For example, would we have to take photos of ourselves with lightsabers, and composite those in? Or could we take a shot of Obi-Wan from Episode III (technically under Lucasfilm's copyright), and put that in? Or what about taking a non-Lucasfilm image and putting that in -- for example, taking Frodo from The Lord of the Rings (under the copyright of New Line Cinema) and adding a lightsaber to that? Point being, since we don't have legal rights to those images, they might be restricted from this game.
I'm not saying that adding people with lightsabers is the only way to do this, I'm just trying to give relative examples of what I'm asking about. I hope that helps to clarify my question!
