It is that time again, I don't know if we really need an introduction for this game so lets just skip ahead to the fun stuff....
Special Note: Material released July 1, 2007 or later will not be considered for this draft. This includes novels, comic books, and any other official releases.
For those of you familiar with the Draft Game, feel free to skip reading the rest of this post, and just sign up. For those of you unfamiliar, we'll provide a quick synopsis of how to participate and all that jazz.
The Participants
There are three types of participants in this draft: The Commissioner, The Judges, and the GMs.
The Commish: That's me! It's my job to make sure the draft runs smoothly. I take care of the draft list, randomize the draft order, call the matches, and keep track of the winners. I also have an open PM box for questions, complaints, and bad jokes. Also bribes.
The Judges: There are three of these. It's their job to decide who wins the matches. They (sometimes) listen to arguments from GMs, and (sometimes) provide breakdowns on their reactions to picks during the drafting process. Also to take bribes.
The GMs: That's you. There are 12 these. It's their job to assemble a good team (or bad, it's up to you). It's also their job to send in numbers (which we'll talk about in a bit), and to "pimp" their team in the eyes of the judges.
Assembling a Team
The bulk of the job of a GM, and the bulk of this game, is assembling the teams. This is done, mainly, through a drafting process. Once sign-ups are finished, a draft order will be published. When it is a GM's turn to pick, they should post in this thread the character they wish to select for their team. Be warned, however, that you only have 24-hours to select a character, so it is often a good idea to send a PM to the commish with a selection or two that you would like to make if your turn to pick is coming up soon and you might not be on. If your time expires, you will be "bumped" to the end of the round. If you are bumped twice during the process, you can be removed from the game.
The draft order is reversed at the end of each round. So, if it begins this way:
Team A
Team B
Team C
Team D
Then the next round, it will go
Team D
Team C
Team B
Team A
And, we do that for ten rounds.
The other ways to fill rosters for teams is through free agency and trades. Free agency occurs only in periods specified by the commish. During these times, you post in the thread a player you are dropping from your team, and a player you are dropping from the available list. To complete a trade, two GMs must agree to the deal, and then both must PM the commish for approval. If the trade is approved, the Commish will post so in the thread. Trades must be x-for-x character in terms of draft picks and characters (i.e. no 3-for-2 trades or anything of the like are allowed, also, there must be at least one character being traded. You may trade a character for a draft pick, for example, but you may not trade a draft pick for another draft pick).
Competing
Play between teams consists of three phases. In the first phase, the commish will announce the matches for that round. At this time, the GMs will submit numbers for their team. Numbers are submitted in the following way:
Suppose you drafted the following team:
Darth Sidious
Darth Vader
Darth Tyrannus
Darth Maul
Darth Revan
Darth Malak
Asajj Ventress
Jar Jar Binks
Now, it is first important to understand that you only start 6 of your characters. So you choose the eight you wish to start (or the two you wish to bench). Having decided that, you assign the numbers one through eight to the characters you are starting. So, you could decide on this for the hypothetical team above:
1. Darth Revan
2. Darth Malak
3. Darth Tyrannus
4. Darth Vader
5. Darth Maul
6. Jar Jar Binks
And then you put that into a PM and send it to the Commish. It's really that simple! GMs will have 24 hours to submit their numbers to the Commish, and any GM who does not submit their numbers will have them simulated via a Random Number Generator.
Once all the numbers are in (or simulated), we move on to phase two. At this point in time, the commish will call the numbers one through six in a random order. When he calls a number, the characters assigned to that number will "battle". So, for example, when the number 3 is called, Darth Tyrannus goes into battle, and when the number 2 is called, Malak goes into battle. The battle is done ... well, basically in the minds of the judges, who determine who they think will win. Part of the fun of this phase is the GMs arguing for why their characters should win. There are three judges, and it takes two votes for a character to win.
This phase continues until all eight numbers have been called. A team wins if they get at least four of the individual matches. However, if neither team gets at least four wins (and hence there is a 3-3 tie), we go to the third phase:
Team Battles! Here, the teams face off in a 8-on-8 all-out melee. Again, the judges decide who would win, and take things like teamwork into account, and again 2 votes are needed to win.
Optional Strategies
There one additional strategy that are optional to use: trumps.
Trumps: When using a trump, you send two characters into battle at the same time. To use a trump, simply state in your numbers which characters are going to be teaming up. So, your numbers could look like this:
1. Darth Maul
2. Darth Malak trumped with Darth Revan
3. Darth Tyrannus
4. Darth Revan trumped with Darth Malak
5. Darth Sidious
6. Darth Vader
So, the advantage of trumping is that you can send two characters into battle at once. However, the trump will only fight once. The second time it is called, your team will forfeit that match. So, for example, If the number 2 is called, both Darth Malak and Darth Revan will go into battle, but when number 4 is called, this team will forfeit their match and give an autowin to their opponent.
Please note: You can trump up to three characters in one trump, or use more than one trump at a time, but for each character you trump, you will receive a forfeit.
Prizes and Punishment
The GM whose team wins will receive one week of VIPship, and guaranteed first pick in the next draft. GMs of teams whose teams get eliminated receive 24-hour game bans (but may still post with a sock).
Sign-ups
Well, if that long post didn't scare you away, sign up! To do so, just copy the list of GMs below, and add your name!

Remember, the main point is to draft the team you want. If you want a team that will win, then by all means, go get every character you think will help you do that, but if you want to just go out and draft characters you think are the bee's knees but might not win a single match, no one is stopping you. This is only the first draft, so don't be scared if you don't know everyone on the list, chances are no one else will know absolutely everyone. Just have fun. And now, On with the draft!
** One last congrats to Durron as well for winning the last draft.

Oh dear sweet Jebus! I'm weak. I'm so very, very weak. Why? Why can't I just stop playing these stupid things, if only for a few lousy months?

I don't want first pick, though. Randomize me. If I still end up with it, fine. Or if its more of a rule than a prize and I'm stuck with it, fine... I guess. But yeah, random, if that's cool.

I suppose I should be trying out the original drafts when they pop up... though my experience with pre-Episode I Jedi/Sith is rather limited. But that's what looking at the past drafts are for.
BTW, I'll be going away very shortly for a holiday, though I should be able to have internet access. Nevertheless, I will have a list of picks PMed, ready for the Commish to use.

Who's that? Or does that just mean you're still looking for another judge?
Anyways, glad to see that Inty and Ron are judging again, they did a good job last time. Even if the first half of Ron's judgments were 'unofficial'.

BTW, is Jar Jar really on the draft list? Because a top two of Jar Jar and Thon would be unbeatable.
