^^^ Most definitely. How old is Ahsoka anyway? I also thought that she seemed to be way to far along skillwise to be supposedly all that young. If she's fighting like that at say 12 to 14 yrs old, I wonder what will she be like later.

She's 14. Yeah, I agree that she seemed a bit too proficient in combat.

14!? Well that REALLY screws up with continuity (EU wise) because according to everything we know at 13 the un-chosen younglings are sent to the AgriCorps (or w/e other corps). And she's supposedly barely old enough to be a padawan?
*is confuzeled and a little POed*

Yeah I was confused by that. They kept saying Ahsoka was too young to be a padawan at 14, but Anakin was already a padawan at 10.

Actually, I think it was nine, but yea, it all just doesn't quite match up.

Hey everyone,
Do you guys have any idea what NJO-era Luke's fighting style is? I am wondering, since his fighting in the NJO books are described to be superior to that of Yoda.
Obi Wan was Form III, Luke's father (Anakin) was Form V, and Yoda was Form IV. So what is Luke (post-ROTJ)?
I wouldn't be surprised if Luke was a master of all the forms, much like Yoda. I would imagine that Luke's fighting style in the NJO books are unlike that we've ever seen. He has to be that good, since he's the son of the chosen one (Anakin Skywalker).
What do you guys think?

I'm no fan of post-ROTJ EU, but I'm sure that Luke is all-around awesome at fighting. His Wookieepedia article elaborates on his powers and abilities: "Luke's particular form of lightsaber combat may in the end be something entirely new, with traces of Form III, Form IV and Form V mixed together with his own techniques."

Yep, the fact that Dave Filloni has a Plo Koon costume makes me think he's got a good sense of continuity.
Alley_Skywalker posted: Did anyone else think that she was a little too skilled for someone who is not just only recently made a padawan but also someone who is supposedly "probably eve too young to be a padawan"?
Definitely.

Luceno had said that in The Unifying Force he meant to suggest that Luke was using Vapaad. I would tend to think that Luke uses a mixture of multiple styles simply because I don't think that the NJO still has the formal forms of the Old Jedi(though I think they may have been retconned into using the old forms by The Essential Guide to the Force.)

I'm glad to see the thread back up.
As far as spoilers, I'd be fine with highlighting and coloring them in black so that you can participate in the non-spoiler discussion.
I beat The Force Unleashed a couple of days ago, and there's a part of the game which relates in an interesting way back to the team. In TFU, Vader's apprentice has a droid named PR0XY who can take on the appearance of others using hologram generators and use their fighting style. One of the forms he can take is Obi-Wan, which makes me wonder if Vader had similar droids and used them to re-fight Obi-Wan over and over again. I think it would make sense given how obsessed he is with him even in the OT.
