I'll be around more Ice...bwaa haaa haaaa
Oh Alley, I forgot that you leave for the summer Have a safe trip, and catch in with us when you can!!
IA that Ahsoka and her apparent existence doesn't make much sense for canon. I do wonder how they will explain neither Anakin nor Obi-Wan's - or even the council's mere mention of her during RotS.
I'm still thinking that she got wise and bailed on Anakin Out of shame and embarrassment, Anakin never speaks her name again, and Obi-Wan, not wanting to upset Anakin, keeps mum (just like he does about Padme, though it's so obvious he knows)!
I'm also concerned about the space of time during the series and movie. Anakin has been knighted - his hair has grown out. From sources in the past, Anakin was known to be a knight for about six months before he turned, so it just seems like they are going to stuff a lot of story into a small frame of time here. IDK...
I would have preferred it if they went way back to the start of the wars...right after Geonosis and all that. I would love to see the whole thing, you know?
I still hope that one day I get my episode 1.5
ETA: To make a point of what Shrunken said about the most experienced ones teaching the youngins', I'm starting to get peeved with the concil's seemingly lax attitude about letting anybody train anybody. As much as I LOVE A/O, it would have been wiser IMO to have Anakin trained by a more experienced master (though Obi rocks of course), if they had to train him at all. They really should have just sent him back home, but that opens up another can of worms about Qui-Gon and Obi's promise.
Still, doesn't Yoda care enough about Ahsoka as to not make her an Anakin experiment? Jeez....
And it would seem that during the time of the CW - in which the dark is starting to encompass everything around them, the jedi wouldn't take such risks.......eh, I'll just wait and see.

That's good to hear.
Does anyone think that they will also start the live action series with a movie too? That would be cool if they do.

Anyone going to see the movie opening day?
I'm already considering taking the night off work to go see it...if it comes to our local theater. *crosses fingers*
And I'm still wary about the whole Ahsoka thing. On one hand, I do think it's an interesting idea (as long as they still keep the focus mainly on Ani/Obi ). But on the other hand, it just doesn't seem right, for the reasons that you all have mentioned.

Yea, but EU has a way contradicting itself and so I guess they could make Anakin’s knighting come earlier than suggested by the former EU.

I think their logic is that the first CW account for that time period.

It would be nice to see.
I do wish we could get this CW as a real movie…like the other ones (Actors, script written by GL, etc). This kinda complicates the whole “Pure”-canon vs EU debate on top of me just preferring an actual movie in general (lol). But, hey, EU-ish animated Ep 2.5 is WAY better then nothin’ :P
Still, doesn't Yoda care enough about Ahsoka as to not make her an Anakin experiment? Jeez....
Agh…this image of Ani as an incompetent master is really unfair, IMO. The issue I take is not that Anakin would be training a youngling but rather…how can ANY knight as involved in the war train a young padawan? Now, I’m not sure what her age is suppose to be…do we know that yet? If she’s an older padawan then maybe it’s ok but if she’s of the regular taking age then well…Ani is too valuable of a Jedi to keep at home to train a padawan while the war goes on. And he can’t very well take a completely inexperienced young padawan into a hot spot. But at the same time…a padawan shouldn’t be left for extended amounts of time w/o her master as te war would demand (Ani off on missions and the young one back at the temple). I think Anakin gets this and wouldn’t take on a student until AFTER the war ended. There’s a reason why this whole thing doesn’t really make sense.

That is a good question, Icestar... what exactly happens to her could make this either much more plausible or even less. I'm interested in what their relationship will be like, is Anakin a laid-back Master or does he prefer to take control? And how well will they understand each other, care for each other, and work together? This situation not only has Anakin, but another instance of the Master/Padawan relationship, and I think most of us enjoy Obi-Wan and Anakin not just because of themselves but the bond they have together and how they work as two halves of a single machine. So I'm not surprised this is exciting in here

Alley, Ahsoka is 11 I believe. So that at least tells me that Anakin is more than likely her first master since she is so young. Most Jedi padawans are apprenticed at about 12/13.
I could be wrong about her age though. Either I had a dream, or I recently read somewhere that she was 14! Who knows lol.
I think I'm going to like her. As long as her relationship with Anakin doesn't start to eclipse the one he has with Obi-Wan. If it does I will be calling for her death
I read that she is supposed to be a cross between Ani/Obi - that should be, er....interesting!
I'm going to stick to the idea, for now, that Dooku probably kills her, or had her killed. It would add even more to the duel on the Invisible Hand.
Still, they are going to have a heck of a time explaining why she is NEVER mentioned in the movie.

It is strange she is never mentioned in episode 3 at all.
If Dooku does kill Anakin's padawan then that could have been one of the things that made Anakin kill Dooku.

Dooku killing her could be a good additional catalyst. I agree (as I've already said in the past) that a padawan coming out-of-the-blue seems rather contrived and odd, but it could also show us another side of Anakin that could be very interesting (ie. what kind of master is he and why?) I just hope they don't kill her off too quickly so we at least get to have a feel of their dynamic - and as mentioned, the relationship better be different than the Obi/Ani 'ship, or I'll also kill her myself!

Huh. Haven't been around in ages, but now I needed something to keep me from writing a paper again...

You might have read it at the databank, I think it says she's fourteen. And that she's apprenticed unusually early, which doesn't make sense when compared to the EU where you're sent to the AgriCultural Corps if you haven't been chosen for a Padawan before you turn thirteen (which I think is a horrible idea, by the way).
They changed the entry for Anakin on the databank as well - now it seems he's been a knight pretty much from the outset of the war, getting promoted right after AOTC. Explains how he has time to grow his hair so long, at least...
I think that the idea to give Anakin an apprentice is a very good one. He works best when he's responsible for others, I think, though he gets carried away with his attachments and all. Unfortunately, she's bound to die, which will only reinforce his obsession with saving people from death. Well, Yoda couldn't know that would happen - I approve of his decision to assign Ahsoka to Anakin.

Queen, I do remember reading wookieepedia and on there it says that GL said that she is 11, and the databank says she is 14. I'm going to go with 11 since it's from GL. But then again, and I don't mean to TMI or anything, but she looks a little too, uh,...err..."developed" to be just 11. IDK....different species, so who knows. I hope I just conveyed what I was trying to say, properly.
Anakin as a master should be fun if nothing else. At least now we no longer have to leave it to speculation. I'm looking forward to Obi possibly teasing him

Yeah... by giving him someone to care for? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense, if you see it that way. Does Yoda set her up to die, so that Anakin will learn to accept loss? Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. Maybe she has a terminal illness that cannot be cured, not even by a Jedi healer... Nah. Seems a bit callous, even for a Jedi.
And I, too, really look foward to Obi-Wan teasing Anakin. Anakin storming in, ranting about headstrong, disobedient Padawans, and Obi-Wan will just smile and chuckle evilly. Well. As evilly as he can.

I was wondering the same thing. How can giving you someone like a Padawan make you detached? ??? Understand these Jedi, sometimes I do not.
Anyway, that kinda reminds me of my mom saying to me "Wait until you have kids of your own" when she had to deal with something naughty that I did.
I can picture Obi-Wan crossing his arms, and nodding his head like "now maybe you understand what I had to put up with"

Yea..I think SW has just gotten too big with all the different EU writers/levels/media/etc for things to keep straight. (Another reason for me to be a canon purist )
