Pfft. Look at the scan from EE again, he says. Who the hell besides you actually owns Empire's End? wink

Though it's kinda funny how she hasn't used that power in the 29 in-universe years since then, despite being in a fair number of situations in which it would've been quite useful...

EDIT: Oh, nevermind. You actually posted the scan up there. Bleh, that story was garbage.

Ok, these are by no means perfect judgements, and I'm looking to refine them, but hopefully they are sufficient.

Since they're quicker, I believe that the pilots will engage first.

Outside The Star Destroyer

Jagged Fel, Turr Phennir, Maarek Stele, and Lumiya vs. Soontir Fel and Han Solo

For me, this is clear cut. Stele is, at the very least, Soontirs equal, and whilst Han isn't a slouch, Jagged, Phennir and Lumiya should be able to handle him, and then turn on Soontir. Cohesion is the major issue, but it shouldn't be too bad. I don't see Phennir surviving (Fel knows him too well), but the rest should be able to make it on to the Star Destroyer. The strategists here are far better for Steele and co, as they have far better experience with coordinating starfighter battles than their opposition.

Inside the Star Destroyer:

Darth Sidious, Darth Caedus, Kir Kanos and Jango Fett vs. Luke Skywalker, Kyp Durron, Ulic Qel-Droma, and Boba Fett

Which leads us to the battle inside. Luke is the best here, but Caedus and Sidious are very close behind. Either of them would be able to hold Luke long enough for the other to go to town on Ulic. Kir is superbly trained, and while he will probably lose to Kyp, will hold him long enough for whoever despatched with Ulic to join the fight. Jango and Boba is close, but Boba, with his greater experience would win. and would be able to help Luke and Kyp. The meld support from Mara and Leia will be an advantage for Luke and co., but with the edition of the pilots, especially Lumiya, who has a psychological advantage over Luke, should be enough for the dark side team to overcome Luke and co.

And the strategists (need to be captured/killed to win):

Grand Admiral Thrawn and Wilhuff Tarkin vs. Mara Jade Skywalker and Leia Organa-Solo

Thrawn and Tarkin are the superior tacticians, whilst Mara and Leia will supply meld support. Due to the greater numbers of non-force sensitives, Tarkin and Thrawn will be the more effective here.

Overall - The numerical advantage of the pilots for Emperors Groove is the key here. It will allow Lumiya to eventually enter the battle, and give them the edge in the battle inside the Star Destroyer, especially due to her hold over Luke.

Winner - Emperors Groove

Sids/Caedus is an INSANE top two. In fact, if you had a third Force user inside the star destroyer, I'm pretty sure you'd have the advantage and very likely the overall win. However, Luke Skywalker as of this point in LotF(I'm using Invincible data, although not relying on it) is just...yeah. And with three force users and Boba, whose tech and experience now far surprass Jango, I don't think your team can handle it. Ulic's got all kinds of scrapping experience, and Kyp's a powerhouse in his own right - they lend just enough support to be able to take the Force users...and surrounded by this much power, I really don't think the non-force users are going to be very influential in the grand scheme of things. They can help their respective sides at the beginning, but some random Force push from the bloodlines we've got on the battle field is gonna splatter them like flies on a podracer. Just saying.

Leia and Mara for mindmeld is gonna coordinate Luke and Kyp as well as power them, so I'd say inside the Star Destroyer is going to go to Luke. The problems is outside, because they'll smuggled in Lumiya eventually. Han however has the advantage of his flying being completely speed and evasion oriented, as he rarely uses the forward cannons. It'll take a while to take him down, and in that time I'm confident the numbers/limb count inside will support the Luke/Ulic/Kyp team. When Lumi gets there, even if they manage to overpower Luke/Ulic/Kyp, they won't have the muscle left to kill Mara and Leia when they're found. So I'll give it to that team and send it to a third.

Can Sidious make force storms in this match. Say tell my pilots to back off and let the force storm do what it does. I have never read the comic so I don't know how these things work, but I mean if he can control them well, I say why not.

Question on the battle meld. How well did it work the first time it was used, I mean I don't see problems of two of the most powerful darksiders trying to mind meld.

This some debate for a trial draft. Oh why oh why couldn't you defeat Luke, Dooku and Maul...

After reading Invincible, I think we're getting to the point that we may perhaps need to take him out of the draft.

If we're talking seriously about him beating a Sids/Caedus trump (which I don't disagree with), we're talking about a team-buster, IMO.

Luke isn't beating a Sids/Caedus trump in this case - although by Invincible, he'd actually have a shot(I don't think he could do it, personally, but a shot is feasible). Luke/Ulic/Kyp/Melee fighter is beating Sids/Caedus/two melee fighters. Let's face it, I don't think the melee guys have what it takes to fight with 5 of the arguably most powerful Force users in the draft(see how simply Mace dispatched Jango, and he's no powerhouse in this sense). In fact, if we were to make a list on pure power it would probably have all five of those somewhere in the top 10. Luke's team has the advantage because it has three force users to Sids/Caedus two and those Force users are of ridiculously high quality, even though neither are quite as good as Sids/Caedus.

Right. This isn't Luke single-handedly taking down Sids and Caedus. He's not doing that. Even I admit that.

This is Luke, working alongside Kyp Durron, Ulic Qel-Drom, and Boba Fett making sure that Sids, Caedus, Kir Kanos, and Jango Fett don't get to kill his wife and sister.

This is Han Solo knowing that the longer he stays alive, the greater the odds are that his wife and sister-in-law get to stay alive.

This is a team making great use in "intangibles" like that to set them selves up well for teams.

This is an incredibly close battle. Eventually, Han and Soontir Fel will go down. But I think they're going to last long enough for the tide to turn on the inside in favor of their team. Luke + Kyp + Ulic can match Caedus and Sids, which is no small feat.

And that's really going to lead to a victory over the best top-two I've ever seen in any draft.

Winner: Team Rufio

Because every first draft should be done this way, let's continue with a double-elimination style:

Winners Bracket:

Ko He shin vs. Team Rufio

Winner of that match goes automatically to the championship game.

Losers Bracket:

Yoda and His Merry Men vs. Emperor's New Groove

Loser is eliminated.

Let's see some numbers, please.

Ghidorah/Beetlejuice

Damn, that's just plain beastly right there. One can only imagine just how perfect an opposing team would have had to be to take down a squad lead by a top two like that. Not to mention just how skilled a GM it would take.

pffftt...The MIB from the cartoon could take them, but there not allowed because they aren't "canon"

But Luke would probably still take them all
