IC: Obi-Wan

The elder Han was apparently not expecting to have his bluff called. The younger Han walked off in the opposite direction, seemingly quite happy to be rid of the Jedi. Obi-Wan shook his head, thinking of how easily the man had forgotten Obi-Wan had recently saved his life from a large, falling metal section of the ceiling. But such was the life of a Jedi sometimes.

It did seem a good idea for the older Han to go with the young man, as he at least seemed to have the sense of experience about him. Obi-Wan was a little nervous about letting them alone, but what could he do? Ultimately one could not compel others to do as you wished.

As the doors slid closed and the lift began moving upward, Obi-Wan sent a sidelong glance over to the Sith. It went against all his instincts to be riding in a lift, alone, with a Sith, and Obi-Wan's senses were on all alerts. The Sith made a comment about business he needed to attend to up above, but Obi-Wan said nothing.

Instead, he looked away from the Sith, staring at the door, longing to be out of the lift. But he remained calm nonetheless.

IC: Count Dooku

"What did they say happens? Why is Anakin to kill you?"

"It was, apparently, orchestrated as part of his fall to the Dark Side. You might remember Senator Palpatine? He became Chancellor...and was also Darth Sidious." Dooku looked away briefly, finding it difficult to face Qui-Gon's shock. "He taught me. But it seems his only intention was to betray me. From what the others said, it seems he did manage to create that Empire he wanted, with Skywalker beside him...and to kill the Jedi en masse." He sighed, weariness settling in his arisocratic face. "He offered me a path that seemed the only thing that could succeed. I...was wrong to aid him, I believe." The admission galled him. To be wrong. To have judged incorrectly. It was a terrible blow to his pride, yet it was apparently true.

He had been betrayed. He had paid in his own honour to further his Master's plans, and all it had given him was death. There was a cruel kind of irony to the way he'd been brought here, to know what the consequences had been of what he'd done. He had taken the wrong path, and there had been no way back that he could see. Yet Master Yoda, somehow, hadn't given up on him. And now he was here, with his Padawan...whose voice had called him back from the brink of the darkness, so long ago. He'd stepped over that edge, later...but perhaps he could let them call him back again?

IC: Han "Junior" Solo

Han heard the sound of footsteps trailing behind him and for a brief moment, allowed a satisfied smirk to show on his face. He didn't even need to turn around to know that it was Pops. He was right in thinking that his future self couldn't let him stray too far without getting in on the action himself.

"Just so you know, if anything bad happens I WILL say I told you so."

"Good to know," Han responded, eyeing the other man as he passed him. "But I don't expect anything else to go wrong. We got the worst behind us." He paused for a moment, jabbing his thumb over his shoulder at Kenobi as the lift doors closed.

"Where are you wanting to go, anyways? Still Engineering?"

The Corellian glanced around the corridor, his gaze coming to rest on the blast doors leading into engineering. "That was the plan," he admitted. "I dunno, between the two of us and a Wookiee, I say we'd be able to overcome any traps that may be waiting for us. And who knows, we might even get something accomplished."

Junior's comment about the worst being behind them made Han think, You have no idea, do you? But how could the younger Solo really have a clue about some of what was to happen. He hadn't expected it himself, and around when he'd been carbonited he'd known even less.

He sighed when he heard that engineering was still the goal. What part of trap doesn't he understand? The litter from the previous fight still lay around the corridor, and Han had to step over, around and sometimes under the varied debris. "You all really had some fun, didn't you?" Lifting a leg so that he could step under it easier. Of course the thing didn't budge, weighing several hundred pounds. Grunting Han ducked under the leg and approached the doors.

Crossing his fingers, and actually hoping the doors were broken, he pushed the open button. Luck was with Junior though, as the doors opened albeit with a whine. Han entered the room, drawing his blaster. His trepidation was somewhat obvious, as odds were they hadn't actually managed to take out everything from before. Of course that didn't mean that there was anything actually still there, but with their current luck there was effectively no way that had happened. "Stay sharp." He muttered to the other two.

Han noticed something rather large that really didn't fit with anything in the room... a rather large metalic pillar. Arching an eyebrow, curiousity actually got the better of him. I'm gonna regret this, I just know it. Han walked over to what he assumed was some kind of support. It was then that he noticed another one not very far away. Then it moved. Ah feth it. A rather large limb reached down and made a grab for him. Rolling behind a nearby control panel, hoping that the thing wasn't interested in actually destroying anything, he hid.

As the metallic creature turned towards where he'd been, Han wondered exactly where he'd seen something like that before. Then out of the distant past he remembered. Rancor, Jabba's palace. Evil beast with bad temper. Why anyone would create a droid of one was so far beyond Han it wasn't funny. Then it spoke. "Hello, I'm FL45Y, human cyborg relations. You may call me fluffy. How may I be of service?" The exceedingly prim voice through him completely for a loop. Of course the fact that it also picked up and threw some of the other droid wreckage where Han was hiding was completley at odds with it's stated purpose. Han found himself completley at a loss.

Looking over to where Junior was, his face completely bewildered, he mouthed "I TOLD YOU SO! ANYMORE BRIGHT IDEAS?"

The lift took longer then Caedus wished, one of the more enjoyable things being the fear flowing off of Kenobi. Caedus smiled at that, enjoying his foe's fear. The lift groud to a stop and the door opened and Caedus steeped out, "Lead the way, Jedi."

Obi-Wan ignored the Sith's puerile taunting, and stepped off the lift. He began striding back in the direction of the room where he'd left Anakin. He could still feel that Qui-Gon was there and was in a growing amount of distress. As he approached, he felt another presence, less familiar but quite distinct. Obi-Wan's gait slowed a little as he came upon the two old Jedi, speaking about something, he knew not what, but something important.

"Dooku," Obi-Wan ground out, his hand involuntarily slipping to rest on his lightsabre hilt before he knew it. He walked sideways in an arc, keeping his eyes on the man as he approached Qui-Gon from the other side.

He had told Qui-Gon about Dooku's turning, and judging from the wavering ripples in the Force surrounding him, this must have been what they'd been discussing. Recalling Dooku's declaration on Geonosis that Qui-Gon would have joined him had be been alive, Obi-Wan's jaw muscles grew tight. "I wouldn't listen to anything he says, Master. Whatever you remember of him, he has been known to be patently false." His eyes flicked to Qui-Gon for a moment, then back to Dooku. "Are you all right, Master?" he asked.

OOC: Yes, I know. He's evil. sad

IC: Han "Junior" Solo

The two Solos continued down the remaining length of the corridor, stepping over the occasional droid carcass until they finally reached the blast door. Han looked up and down at the structure in their way and shrugged. It didn't look too bad, which meant all the more easier to hotwire. A few tweaks here and there and the door should budge.

The Corellian started to make his way to the control panel located on the left side of the wall when Pops stepped forward and just simply pushed the activation panel. Han smirked, not expecting it to work but before anything could come out of his mouth, the indicator light flashed green and the doors parted. "Well, wasn't expecting that to happen," Han muttered, narrowing his eyes curiously.

"Stay sharp." Pops returned as he stepped through the threshold with blaster drawn.

Han shook his head and smirked, following suite. "You don't have to tell me twice." The room itself was dimly lit, every corner washed out in shadow and making it extremely difficult to tell what was what. Then again, the whole ship was dead. The fact that engineering was more of the same didn't really surprise him. But still, if they could get something running, just maybe they'd have a chance of escape.

But as usual, all those hopes were dashed as something insanely huge moved in one of the dark corners. It wasn't organic, that much could be said by the steady whine of its servomotors as it moved and it certainly wasn't taking too kind to their decision to trespass on its turf for in the next instant, a spindly arm thrust out of the darkness and made a grab for Pops.

"Watch out!" Han called, backpedaling away from the mechanical beast while firing a few quick shots into the dark maw. He noticed Pops was able to get away just in time but he wasn't so lucky. As he attempted to join Pops at his newly found hiding place, something grabbed him from behind and wrapped itself around his leg. He was soon swept off his feet and turned upside down as the thing hoisted him higher into the air. He squirmed against the tight grip, feeling the muscles in his calf and lower leg beginning to burn from the stress, as he tried to twist around just enough so that he could get a clear shot at his attacker. But the thing jostled him again, causing him to loose his grip on the blaster and sending it tumbling to the floor below. Han cursed, reaching desperately for the fallen firearm before his attacker decided to play a crude game of smashball. He was swung backward once and then released, sending him head first into the hard floor.

The last thing he remembered was getting a quick glimpse of his attacker and how it looked remotely like a mechanized rancor. In fact, there were two of them. Then a garbled mess followed where he thought he heard something relating to fluffy human cyborgs offering their services before everything went black.

"Duck."

Fett pointed his blaster at the ceiling and blew out one of the panels with few well-aimed shots.

Darth Vader's anger at this little gnome was growing. He was speaking of things that Vader had no desire to remember or hear spoken. Extremely irritated, he continued with his interrogation. "Skywalker is dead, Jedi, and you shall not speak that name again in my presence. Now answer me: who is responsible for my arrival on this vessel?" Awaiting an answer, Vader took another step forward, bringing his blade to a rest mere centimeter's before the Grandmaster's face.

IC Yoda:

"Skywalker is dead, Jedi, and you shall not speak that name again in my presence. Now answer me: who is responsible for my arrival on this vessel?"

Yoda continued to show no reaction to the blade of the Sith Lord's saber, even as it got within centimeters of his face. His hands remained gripping his gimer stick. "This question answer I have. Know not how we came to be here I do. Perhaps of you I could ask the same? Dark Side of the Force here has brought us, perhaps?" He waited to see how Vader would respond to this idea.

IC as Admiral Firmus Piett, the Executor

Palpatine would have been proud, although Firmus reminded himself the man was alive and well here on the Executor. Not since the mess hall had Firmus done anything to remind his guests that he was still around. He was really getting used to his new powers of electrical omnipotence aboard the star destroyer. Meanwhile, the droids had polished the Admiral’s corporeal imitation to the point of perfection. Faux-Piett was currently “sleeping”, if that’s what you wanted to call it… really, it was some kind of mechanical slumber. He wasn’t turned off, exactly, because otherwise how would an attacker respond if this supposedly real Admiral Piett didn’t wake up after being stabbed or strangled?

Firmus had considered an organic version of himself, but then how would he control it? If he could not already control the organic systems present on his ship, why would a clone of himself do? Thus, Faux-Piett was to be the galaxy’s most advanced, subtle, and refined droid. The fantastical creation even had a Force signature! And by the gods it worked, too! Yesterday, Firmus walked it by a Jedi whose name he did not know, and the Jedi acknowledged Faux-Piett as a living, breathing human being.

Faux-Piett’s makers, droids in and of themselves, were proud of the creation’s injury imitation systems. The Faux-Piett could bruise and bleed… why, it could even feign sickness by coughing and vomiting! And only lightsabers could slice through the armor located between the skin and the inner mechanics…

Firmus wirelessly currented his electricity through the air of the apartment and into the Faux-Piett. It awoke from its slumber, and its electrical juices lifted its legs, so like normal human walking, and from the apartment, the Faux-Piett made its way to the bridge of the Executor.

IC: Lord Darth Vader

The mention of the possibility of someone else being responsible certainly caught Vader's attention. After all, Yoda was only one of the two strongest beings aboard the ship, and the other was his master. Was it possible? Could it be that this was some sort of test for him? Or a trap to destroy him before he became strong enough to challenge his master? Regardless of which one of these options was correct or if even any of them were, it brought a whole new set of possibilities into the equation.

Since the green gnome was apparently not responsible for this turn of events, Vader deactivated his lightsaber, the blade hissing out of existence. He had considered the possibility that Yoda was lying, but it seemed unlikely. He may have spoken in riddles, but he was never one for elaborate Force-illusions. His master, on the other hand, was a distinct possibility. Deciding that the Grandmaster posed little threat at the moment, Vader chose to leave him alive, at least for now. Whoever was responsible for this anomaly would have to expend extra energy to eliminate the Grandmaster, for Darth Vader would not be doing their dirty work for them. Turning about, he strode off deeper into the vessel, in search of more clues to solve this mystery. Pausing briefly, he made one more comment on the Jedi's direction. "Today, your life shall remain your own, Jedi. You're worth more alive than dead, for now."
