I don't even know who Mara Jade is, but then again I only watch the SW movies. SW Literature is not really my cup of tea.
As for the TC's question, my absolute favorite character is Luke Skywalker in Return Of The Jedi. I just love how he still feels the good in his father and how he perseveres in trying to turn him back to the good side.
Other favorite characters include:
The Gamorrean guards in Jabba's palace, Darth Maul, Qui Gon Jin, Return Of The Jedi's old Anakin Skywalker, the Royal guards, Obi Wan, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Mace Windu, Nute Gunray, Grand Moff Tarkin...

I have so many favorite Star Wars characters, but I have to say
Yoda, because of his wisdom and true example he set as a teacher and leader of the
Jedi Order.
Yoda's wise words have helped me in real life situations. I like his calm spirit. Yoda is so sweet, yet powerful, and makes me smile.
His pointed ears are so cute.

Obi's my favorite too, but for the prequels only.

When I first saw ROTS, I first really liked Obi-wan as a character, but then I started reading EU literature and I really got into Luke and Mara; I just didn't mention this in my first post.

First and foremost would have to be Yoda, and just because its my nickname but that aspects already been covered. But close in second would have to be Obi-won or else Chewbacca.
