Consider the old Jedi Trials are an echo of the past, pushing the New Jedi forward and that no ranks were retained by anyone ... I'd say you'd need to enter as an initiate.

No. We rebooted the game this time because there were some fundamental problems with the old "order" that the forum moderators believed would best be solved by having a complete wipe of the system.
When the time comes to lock this thread, my anticipation is that another thread will be started with everything carrying over.

At any rate, very nicely done on your last task. This next one will be..... well, a task. No idea if it will be harder, easier, or what.
Padawan Chukling Tigress, your next task is to write an essay on Form 1 of lightsaber combat. Include what the style consists of, it's benefits, its weaknesses, and list one known practitioner of it. Explain how it is good against other styles and bad against others. Lastly, include a 150 word fanfic describing a person practicing Form 1.

I was one of the first members of the original Jedi Trials. I can tell you Gunny that there were a lot of flaws. Most of the members were only 13 and 14 so at that there was a lot immaturity. Sometimes the rules would be carried out too harshly and we had a lot of in fighting. I'm pretty guilty because several times these were my fault. But the start over was a good idea. And now the mods are more involved.
I will do your task as soon as possible, my master.

Task #2 by Padawan Chukling Tigress
Shii-Cho/Form one essay:
Form one is the most basic of the seven forms. It is commonly known as Shii-cho, the way of the Sarlaac or the Determination Form. It is the most ancient form as it is the first one ever developed and incoporates the principle of ancient sword fighting styles. It incredibly simple and is the first form taught to Jedi. Because of this, almost all Jedi incorporate Shii-cho into their styles. Aspects of the Shii-Cho form have even appeared in the New Jedi Order. Shii-cho helped form the Medium style and the Strong Style. The basic goal of Shii-cho is sun djem. Sun djem includes destroying one's opponent's weapon. This led to a bloodless victory. However Sun djem became completely impossible with the rise of Makashi as fighters became more skilled with protecting their weapons. Shii-cho includes some of the most basic techniques, including attack, parry and body target zones. It was taught to younglings before they came padawans through training drills called Velocities. One put both hands on their lightsaber when using form one. The bottom hand acted as an anchor of sort where as the foremost hand acted as a lever with most of the pressure put on the thumb, middle finger and pointer finger.
Form one was one of the easiest forms to learn but still powerful in it's own right. It made fighting multiple enemies easier but it failed to incorporate many things such as one on one combat and deflecting blaster bolts. These would only be conquered by later styles. Shii-Cho is a relentless and determined style, made obvious by one of it's nicknames, The Determination Form. However much of Form one is still unformed. At its essence, it is raw, wild and deadly and requires much emotional heat. It is also slow and predictable giving any experience lightsaber duelist the advantage. Though it is not good by itself, it definitely loans its strength when one mixes it into their current style. Though it is hard to pinpoint a lightsaber style it is good against, the style it is most notably bad against is Makashi. Makashi counteract the main point of Shii-Cho by making it harder for one to destroy their opponents weapon. This pits Shii-Cho practitioners at a considerable disadvantage to a Makashi Practitioner.
Without a doubt, the most notable practitioner of the most underappreciated Form one is Kit Fisto. Sadly though, this did not help him with his fight with Sidious. As I have said many times, Shii-cho is a form best used against multiple opponents and preferrably non-Jedi ones. Any advanced duelist can easily pinpoint a flaw and use it to their advantage. I also want to make mention that Obi-wan incorporated elements of Form one into his style, particularly in his rematch with Count Dooku. Grievous was also known to use it and he thus taught the style to his IG-100 MagnaGuards.
Shii-Cho/Form one Fanfiction:
Drago stepped backwards to block the vertical blow Tallon delivered with his lightsaber, his lightsaber turning into an horizontal parry. Even in this brief practice match, he was seeing the flaws of Shii-Cho. The form was simple and powerful but not anywhere near as powerful as Tallon's Shien or Drago's master's Makashi. Still, Master Chiak has insisted that Drago practice Shii-Cho. He had just smiled at the young man and told him that in learning Shii-Cho, he'd learn something about himself. He didn't quite get what he'd learn. All he wanted to do was learn Ataru. Ataru was perfect for him as Drago was light and quick. But....he could never quite argue with his master. So he did what the old man wished of him. He was awakened from his thoughts as another blow went right past his ear and he looked up to see Tallon grinning at him. "Daydreaming Drago?" Tallon asked in his slow drawl, his grin disolving into a triumphant smirk. Drago glared at his best friend and launched forward, thrusting wildly at his opponent. Tallon batted it away with ease before leaning forward to touch his Viridian blade against Drago's cyan one. Sparks burst off the blade like firecrackers but they did not quite reach either boy. "You know...Drago..." Tallon started in the voice he used only when he knew for certain he was going to win. "You shouldn't try to outpush a Shien user!" And with that Tallon pushed forward with all his strength, knocking Drago back several feet. Drago scrambled to regain his footing and searched his mind for the principles of Shii-cho. But for the life of him...he could not remember any of them. As Tallon strided forward confidently, Drago felt himself pale. Why couldn't he remember any of what he was taught of Shii-cho? He felt instantly guilty that he had not been paying attention. He should have listened to his master instead of concentrating so much on Ataru. Tallon reached him and slammed his lightsaber vertically down on Drago's head. Drago feebly blocked it with his horizontal parry. Just like he did with the next blow, a horizontal strike to his leg and diagonal strike to his shoulder. Even so, he felt himself wearing down. He found he could not lift his arms to beat off Tallon's last blow...his horizontal chop to Drago's neck. Drago closed his eyes, knowing he lost the fight. Just as he knew it would, the blow stopped inches from his neck and even if he didn't see the approaching figure, he heard the footsteps. He opened his eyes and turned to his master, bowing low in humility. "I failed you my master. I'm sorry." He said softly, barely even whispering. Chiak stared at his student before walking over and patting his shoulder. "It is fine. Do you understand why I gave you this task?" He asked, his deep voice creaking with age. Drago shook his head in bewilderment. Chiak looked at Drago before continuing. "It is because we can never forget the basics. You forgot them. Shii-Cho is present in every style. Even as you learn Ataru, you must always keep Shii-Cho in mind. Now i hope you have learned your lesson." Drago nodded and waited once more for Chiak to speak. "Now, I encourage you to get some food and some rest. We will have a busy day tomorrow." With that Chiak walked off leaving Tallon and Drago once again alone. "Drago stood there for some time before Tallon pulled at his arm. "Come on! Let's get some food." Drago grinned at his friend and walked out with him, knowing that he would not make the mistake to underestimate Shii-Cho again.

It was a hard decision to make on who to emulate, but I finely decided on Anakin Solo.
Anakin was born 10 aby on Nespis VIII. Originally he was going to be named Han Solo Jr., but Leia wanted to name him after her father, so he was named Anakin instead. Ever since he was young Anakin was strong in the force, much like his grandfather. Because of this people tried to kidnap him a few times, Lord Hethrir succeeded and tried to sacrifice
him to a waru, but was saved by his uncle and parents. When he was eight he and his family went to Corellia for a vacation. They discovered Center point, which Anakin was able to deactivate saving the lives of twelve million people. He later on joined the Jedi Praxeum on yavin four, where he became good friends with Tahiri Veila. They had many adventures together, they freed the children of the massassi, recovered Obi-wans lightsaber from Orloc, a mage who claimed he had the force.
After graduating from the Jedi Praxeum his uncle took him, and his brother as his apprentices. At the beginning of the Yuuzhan Vong war Anakin, Han, and Chewie traveled to Sernpidal to pick up a shipment for Lando. While there they discovered that the moon was being pulled into the planet by a strange creature they had never encountered before. While they were trying to escape the planet Chewie sacrificed himself to save Anakin. Han blamed Anakin for his death, it was a long time before they were able to mend there relationship. He fought many battles against the Yuuzhan Vong, and became a galactic Hero. When the Jedi Praxeum was attacked by the peace brigade Anakin went there to help rescue the trapped trainees. During the Battle his Master Ikrit was killed, and Tahiri was captured. One of the shamed ones helped him to rescue her, but his lightsaber was damaged in the process. Anakin used a yuuzhan vong lambent crystal to repair it, he later on gained a vongsense from the lambent. After rescuing Tahiri Anakin helped her recover from the horrors that were performed on her, and fell in love. They were later informed that Givin was the vong's next target, Anakin, Tahiri, and Corran Horn traveled there to warn them. After hearing of the incoming threat, the Givin decompressed the space station to kill the yuuzhan vong. The decompression forced Anakin and Tahiri into a storage locker where Anakin admitted his love for her, and they shared a kiss. Corran later arrived and saved them, while the republic fleet drove the vong back. Many battles later Anakin led a strike team of Jedi to Mrykr to destroy a Voxyn cloning facility, the Jedi won but many died, including Anakin. Before falling he became one with the force, and saving his friends.
I want to emulate Anakin because he put others before himself, he wasn't afraid to die protecting the ones he cared about. He was wise, friendly, and even funny. He had courage even when facing an enemy stronger then he was. He was also unwilling to leave a man behind, or sacrifice others. If it came to it, he would rather die himself then let his friends and family die. That is why I want to emulate Anakin Solo.
Anakin Solo fic:
Anakin woke up from a great sleep, he couldn't tell where he was, as far as he knew he had never been there before. He looked around, and tried to figure out where he was. The last thing he remembered was being on Mrykr, he was fighting the yuuzhan vong. He remembered becoming one with the force, and dying. Anakin sat up in shock, he was dead, or at least his mortal body was. He just sat there, his death didn't matter, all he cared about was his friends, and they were able to escape. Anakin came to his feet, there was no use just sitting there, he wanted to explore. Anakin walked around exploring the area around him. The land was perfect, beautiful. He discovered that he was in a force land, he kept exploring, hoping to find more fallen Jedi. He did, he found Jedi like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Master Yoda, and to Anakin surprise he met his grandfather. Anakin talked and interacted with these Jedi, learning about them, and there accomplishments. And telling them some of his own. It went on like this for hours, until it started getting late. The four Jedi said their good nights and went to bed. Anakin laid in bed marveling at this wonderful place. He went to bed thinking "the force has made something truly beautiful." With that he fell asleep.
M&M Jedi:
Plain=Luke Skywalker: I picked Luke to be plain because plain is the ones you remember the most, and Luke is the Jedi you remember the most.
Peanut=Yoda: this one is Yoda because its one of the oldest and best nuts, and because if nuts could think I think peanuts would be the wisest.
Crispy=Ben Kenobi: I chose Ben for crispy because he is the crispy old Jedi who is serious, yet fun.
Almond=Corran Horn: Corran is here because he and almond m&ms are ones you don't hear much about, but when you do read/eat them they are really good.
Peanut Butter=Mace Windu: I chose Mace because when he makes a decision he tends to stick to it, just like peanut butter on the gums.
Dark=Anakin Skywalker: I chose Anakin to be dark because he is a Jedi who does questionable things, and he ended up turning to the dark side.

Fellow Jedi, I have some somber news. My former Padawan, SonicUniverse, has joined the Sith. As such, we will remove him from the roster completely.
