EMPEROR_WINDU posted: Why I want to join the New Jedi Trials
A long time ago in a thread far, far away there was a great Jedi Master known as Horax who decided to share his knowledge of the Force with those who were eager to join for the good of the galaxy (SWC). I was the first to heed the call, quickly climbing the ranks to sit upon the original Council. There we wisely guided padawans on a humorous and sometimes challenging path to enlightenment.
After a lengthy hiatus I returned to the Order to help guide it through what seemed to be it's darkest days. Rebellion and whispers of corruption demanded action and reform which the Council heeded. Through the Focus Group I was selected as the Head Council member and the Order enjoyed a period of peace and prosperity. Having served what I thought was appropriate, I stepped down from the Council and eventually resigned from the Order itself. A great champion of the Jedi Order walked the lonely and seemingly unending path of exile. Having returned with the knowledge that only through complete immersion in the Light side of the Force can one truly understand it's omnipotence and omniscience I have returned to begin anew my training.
I have left before, but now I have come back and I assure you my resolve has never been stronger!
Very nicely done Windu, and it's great to see you back around.
TrulyGhent posted: Is it alright if/when I join the offsite I join as "PadwanSlice"?
I was attacked by Darth Procrastination today, Master. I didn't get much of the project done.
You can have your username be anything you want... ust so long as it is not inappropriate.
Blu-Bladed-Jedi posted: Master Chuckles here is my first task:
It was a dark and stormy night years ago when Chuckles first entered the Jedi trials. He had just been very ill from eating bananas. It would make sense to mention though that he only ate them because of the tomatoes that invaded his home. The tomatoes were searching for new planets to conquer after Lord Tomatius IV died. Supposedly eating bananas made the tomatoes leave. They did leave, but not without making sure young Chuckles was ill.
Chuckles entered and said, "That is good ot ehar master. So, is anyhting exciting going on?"
The sickness made him mix up letters and say them incorrectly. But nothing exciting was going on other than looking into the future. Other jedi were watching baby padawan Acronymous play in a sand box. All in all, it was an eventful day.
Very nicely done, padawan. I enjoyed it thouroughly.... although, I think I never really got over that disease.
Padawan Acronymous, your next task is to list five or more sea animals and tell how one trials member for each is like that animal. The reasons should be well written and at least four sentances long each.
DarthIntegral posted: Yes, with Chukles away, we'll need to keep this on page one some other way ... with no master or knights yet and just Chukles to train (except in my selected and approved by Chuk cases) ... this thread isn't quite running on all cylinders yet.
I doubt Chuk would mind me doing this then:
To everyone who has applied for status in this thread but have not yet been given a Padawan name, I have a task for you. The first to complete it shall be given credit towards becoming a Knight when they are given a Padawan.
List all of the Head Council Members/Grand Masters of the Original Trials Series. Then write a short, fictional biography of Darth-Horax as if he were a Jedi Master during the Clone Wars.
Again, sorry for my absence, and thank you for keeping things going, Inty. The task was fine.
Darth-Horax posted: ***Stumbles into temple***
Wha? I'm out of it for a little while and everybody gets delusions of grandeur!
Hey, Old Man, what's going on?

Chukles...I pray the order will thrive under your command.
I will be like your dead Yoda...always here to lend a hand or (very large) ear whenever needed.
I don't think I'll be actively involved in the game until I graduate from Grad SChool (Nov. 14), but then I'll be back...stronger than ever! Peace...

Chukles will acknowledge your desire to join the next time he logs on. Until then, I posted a task open for anyone who has not been assigned a Padawan, but has expressed a desire to join. You may do that task if you are that bored.
In addition, it would be helpful to the order if someone would post a roster. Include the Grand Master, and all Padawan-Master Pairings, and all initiates who are waiting for a master.

I went back to the first thread and I found that the following members made up the first Council Members:
Darth-Horax
GenMadine
bburditt
Corran10584
Emperor-Windu
[Edit] I just noticed it said Head Council Members. Those would be Horax, Ghost Jedi, JediKnight20043, Emperor-Windu and Chuckles. Those were the only ones I could find and I think those were all of them.
Now here is my story, I've decided to write it from Geonosis to the end of the second movie if that's alright:
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...
STAR WARS
Episode II: Attack of the Clones: "Horax's Story"
It is a trying time in the Galaxy! Master Darth-Horax has come with the other Jedi of the Order to help with freeing Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and Senator Padmé Amidala who were captured while investigating a Droid Factory on the planet Geonosis. We continue our story as the Jedi are about to confront Count Dooku, a former Jedi gone Sith at the Geonosis Arena...
Sweat dripped down Horax's forehead as he knew this was going to be a trying time for the Jedi Warriors on Geonosis. Many of them had not seen combat like this before and many of them were simply Padawans. Though Horax kept his cool, like always. Now, it was only a matter of waiting for the cue. He watched as the purple lightsaber of Mace Windu nearly decapitating Count Dooku, but yet he waited. A few words were exchanged and all the Jedi in the arena began to ignite their lightsabers. It was a glorious sight, the multiple colors of pure energy appearing throughout the arena.
Horax ignited his lightsaber, it was quite a sight as it glowed with an inner orange light. He watched then as thousands of Trade Federation Droids and Super Battle Droids entered the arena. All the Jedi began to charge the droids with grace and might. Though many Jedi began to fall. Horax kept himself focused and used his mastery of Soresu to block all the bolts being shot at him, and he watched as his Padawan did the same.
Just as it seemed the Master and Apprentice had set up a defense for themselves, a huge explosion came from a Super Battle Droid Wrist Rocket separating the two. The two worked hard to deflect the hundreds of bolts being shot at them moving at lightning speed with lightning speed. Though both were strong in the force, the might of the Battle Droids proved to be too much for Horax's apprentice as he was shot three times in the chest, and fell to the sandy Geonosis ground. Keeping epic Star Wars traditions Horax yelled: "NOOOOOOOO!" and quickly ran to the aid of his apprentice. Unable to help, Horax became enraged and began to let his anger take control of his actions. Using this power Horax slaughtered hundreds of droids until the Jedi found themselves completely surrounded.
Mace Windu and Count Dooku exchanged bitter words and Master Windu told Dooku he would not allow the Jedi to become prisoners to be bartered for. Dooku who at this point was disappointed, signaled the droids to finish the Jedi off. Horax losing hope that any Jedi would survive this encounter looked up in the sky to find Republic ships led by Yoda landing in the arena. The fighting continued on and Horax quickly jumped on a ship with a few of the other Jedi as they rode off to try and stop Dooku and the Federation Star Ships from escaping...
That ended Horax's noteworthy stunts on Geonosis. The rest of the archives say that Master Horax was a General during the Clone Wars and served out in the Outer Rim alongside Jedi like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and Mace Windu on the Battle of Coruscant. He is presumed dead after the Jedi Genoside of Order 66.
I hope you all enjoyed that. Now here's another task that I seem to see everyone doing:
Why would I want to join the Jedi Trials?
I would like to join the Jedi Trials because this place seems like a fun community filled with members who know when to be serious and when to have some fun. I just recently joined TF.net and I was looking to join a group that didn't have a large post requirement and I stumbled upon the SWC. I looked at the rules at the AoD and then here and figured that I would enjoy the Jedi more than the Sith. I'm determined to make some friends here and complete any task that is necessary to help this place grow as I can see it just recently began again after a long hiatus. Hopefully I can join, and Chuckles will sign on soon to tell me what to do next.
Now that everything is out of the way, I hope everyone is doing well today.

DarthIntegral posted: Padawan Slice
To truly understand the Force, a Jedi must understand himself. As such, your first task will be about understanding yourself.
The name you have been given to train with, Slice, was chosen for a specific reason. I would like you to discover this reason. Post what the reason is in this thread, and then give a 3 paragraph summary of what "slice" is in this context, and how it relates to you. If you are unsure of the reason, PM me with a guess, and I will let you know if you are correct. If you are incorrect, I will provide a new hint with every guess.
The second part of this task is to find a game in his forum (Star Wars Community) where the word "Slice" is used, but in a different sense. I want you to tell me what that game is, and to give several examples (at least five) of where it may be used in that game (do not have to be actual examples from the game, just where it might be used). Again, if you are unsure, PM me with a guess, and we can exchange clues until you get it right.
Good luck on your task. May the Force be with you.
*Bows* After long and arduous non-stop work, ( ) I have completed this task set out for me by Master Integral:
The Meaning of Slice Part I Slice is defined as the act of infiltrating a computer's security system. The participle is "slicing" and "slicer" is "one who slices". The term has been expanded to include any secret editing of files. e.g. editing pictures, videos, etc.
Slicers tend to spend most of their time at their terminals, which is taxing on their social skills. People usually only deal with slicers when they need to, and since slicers would rather slice than talk to people, it works out. Slicers can be extremely efficient, slicing into a system and editing files without leaving a trace, NRI teams usually include at least a mediocre slicer.
One wellknown slicer is Zakarisz Ghent, who helped break Delta Source during the Thrawn Crisis. He also reconstructed the initial petition from the Empire for peace with the New Republic.[/
The Meaning of Slice Part II
Examples of the term slice used in a different context in the Jedi Draft:

Padawan Slice ... I appreciate the dilligence you have shown in completing your task and in doing more than you needed to do.
For your reference, I will grade your tasks on the following scale. Inadequate/Adequate/Good/Excellent. The more excellent grades you receive, the closer to the minimum of seven tasks you will need to complete. The more adequate tasks, the closer to the maximum fourteen tasks you will need to complete. Any tasks rated inadequate will need to be redone.
For this task, you have received a grade of:
Good
Here is your second task.
A Jedi must learn to control their anger. One source of anger for me is Casey Blake.
Your task is to give me a five paragraph biography of Casey Blake. In this, one paragraph must deal with speculation on why Casey Blake causes me so much anger. I would also like you to provide me with a list of at least five ways to control my anger when it comes to Casey Blake.
