That's my view.

Absolutely, I've been a fan of both since I was a kid(I wouldn't consider myself a diehard Trekkie though, I like the OS and TNG). I do consider myself more of a Star Wars fan than a Star Trek fan though.
I like all kinds of Sci-fi and fantasy, including Harry Potter and LOTR.

I'm shocked that Star Wars fans are calling themselves Starwoids.
It's a completely and utterly stupid word, imho, sorry.
Anyway, I started off with Star Trek. And I love it still. And then came along Han Solo and got me addicted to Star Wars. I devour the EU.
So, yeah, it is possible to be a Star Wars Fan as well as Star Trek Fan. And a BSG Fan, and B5 Fan, and Stargate Fan and what ever else.
I am never going to get over Starwoid.

And it's not really shortening anything, is it? I mean, msot names like that do.
So - we should call ourselves the woidies.

I'm a big fan of both Star Wars and Star Trek. To me they offer different things and can't really be compared. Star Wars has films, the books, the games, and everything else that goes with it. Star Trek has the TV shows and a few films, none of the ST books are actually canon so they don't count towards the ST universe. I like them for different reasons. With Star Trek I can watch a long story developing over a few episodes or a season, there's so much more that can be said and done in that time. With Star Wars I like the whole depth of the universe, being able to go in and write about something new and interesting that's still Star Wars but something that maybe no one else has done.
Oh, and I like 'Warsler', it's almost cute, 'Starwoids' just plain sucks.

I don't lke the term "Starwoid." It sounds so unlike the name it is meant to emulate. So nah!
I would rather be a Star Wars Geek
Though if you change a letter in Starwoid to Starvoid, it sounds really pretty and mysterious....

Not really the adjectives I'd use to describe Star Wars fans.
