In the Star Wars mythos no hutt has suffered a coronary meltown, heart attack, or tumor due to their immense weight.
With this, is their something in their body that prevents blood cells from clogging up with body fats?
No matter how much they drink, eat, ect. they seem to be resistant to natural deaths.
With this, if John Belushi (Animal House), Chris Farley (Tommy Boy), William Hootkins (Jek Porkins in Episode IV), and John Candy (Uncle Buck) were Hutts, they'd still be around today.
I just noticed this interesting fact. Lucas has made alians emune to heart attacks and strokes.
Aint that cool?!

lol. never really thought about it, to be honest.
Hutts DO seem to be immune to everything- including the Force! however, if you read the Krytos Trap, of the X-Wing series, you'll find that aliens most definentally NOT immune to every sickness!

I would assume that they have something in their DNA or something that prevents them from getting heart attacks and what not from eating too much.
Although, I wouldn't say they were resistant to natural deaths...How would they die? According to their Wookieepedia Page, they have some pretty amazing evolutionary traits. For instance, they regenerate body parts (something I was unaware of), and their thick hide, which could be why they appear so fat, is that way because it is almost as tough as armor: it is able to protect their vital organs from blaster bolts and such. The reason they live so long is because they have extremely long life-spans: according to wikipedia, it's over 1000 years. King of like Yoda, just longer.
And I wouldn't classify the deaths of John Belushi and Chris Farley as "natural deaths". Correct me if I am wrong, but they died because of drugs. The other two, I am not sure.

Could you get a source on that?

I don't recall anyone dying of natural causes except Yoda..
Maybe everyone in the star wars universe is immune to heart disease. Maybe medical technology is that advanced.

Well, that's just what we have read/saw. There are trillions of people in the galaxy. We don't care about 99.9% of those people because they are not major characters. So, that .1% of main characters don't die from natural death, that doesn't mean no one else does.
And if Yoda can die from Natural Causes...so can anyone!
Of course, this is just my own opinion. If someone can show me that they can't die from natural causes then I will stop arguing.
EDIT: Oh, and correct me if I am wrong, but I think Marka Ragnos died of natural causes as well. He had ruled the Sith Empire for a century, and only lost his mantle because of his natural death, not because someone took it from him.

It is implied (barely) that Sidious *MIGHT* have usurped him.
Also, did you see any med droids in Yodas hut? Any medical apparatus or something?

AFAIK, no Hutt, of for that matter anyone in Star Wars, ever had diabetes, either.
I did not see any medical droids/apparatus in Yoda's hut.

EU isn't so bad, LemmingLord.
No, IIRC, I don't think there is any med equipment in the hut when Yoda dies.

the EU isn't ewwww and since you asked about plagues you are about to hear more EU. In the Jedi Quest or Jedi Apprentice series I don't remember which at this point a plague was mentioned that was spread across an entire planet by Jenna Zan Arbor. In Jedi Apprentice: The Fight for Truth a plague was mention that had once spread across the galaxy

Actually, Hutts can and do suffer from illnesses, like every other species.
Just because you never saw it in the films doesn't mean it isn't there.
Go look in the EU, and you find vast numbers of diseases afflicting various species. They aren't immune to disease.

'It was too late to wreak any sort of delayed revenge on Shiltu- the old reprobate had died a decade before from sudden massive cellular hemorrhage, a sort of full-body stroke that had ended the Hutt's life far too quickly and painlessly, in Bleyd's opinion.'- Battle Surgeons

It appears to me that Hutts evolved to be obese, and their physiology is geared toward carrying a lot of body fat.
Whatever they're naturally susceptible to, it probably isn't obesity-related disease.

It's a shame Bib Fortuna didn't know that before poisoning his food in an attempt to kill him ...besides, some of the stuff Jabba ate( )he would almost need an iron constitution.
