I've been thinking about this for a long time. First and foremost, we will always have the movies, and spinoffs. And we will always have the EU. Could you walk away from SW as if stands now? After the NJO, I felt as far as the big 3 are concerned, I could care less about reading anymore EU stories. Now if there is a story where the Big 3 perish then I would read it. But for now I'll only read stand alone novels like Death Star and such.
I know there is a new movie and series coming up soon involving the CW and I'll probably watch it.
To answer the question I posed, I know for me, the movies are the meca. The EU up until the NJO are as far I am willing to accept, unless there is a stand alone novel. So I guess, it isn't possible to walk away from SW for good.
Is there a point where you say enough is enough w/SW, or is it never-ending? And is that a bad or good thing?

I'm completely obsessed. I will continue to read SW as long as they continue to write stories. I <3 Cade Skywalker and eagerly await each issue.
I will be at the theater to see Clone Wars and follow the subsequent tv show.
I can't walk away. It is an obsession. Even a book, that I know I'm not going to like, I'm going to purchase when it comes out on paperback. I have to have it.

I could never walk away. I love it and this community has me hooked.
But I am pretty good at ignoring merch, spin-offs and such. No problem. NJO? What's that?

Could I walk away? Yes.
Is it possible for me to walk away? Yes.
Do I want to? Nope.
Especially not with the upcoming television shows, and the good work that's going on in the land of graphic novels (KotOR and Legacy).

I personally cannot walk away from Star Wars. I have tried once after seeing how obssessed with it and wanted to stop with obssessions, but I found myself being inexplicably drawn back to it. Star Wars is part of my life. SO no I cannot walk away from Star Wars even if I wanted to and I don't want to.
I will definitely be seeing the Clone Wars movie when it comes out and will definitely watch the series.
Some people probably could walk away from Star Wars indefinitely but not me. For me it is impossible. My path is one filled with Star Wars.

I think it's fairly easy to walk away if you want to. You may still think about it occasionally here and there given how deeply ingrained Star Wars is in the cultural zeitgeist but removing yourself from TFN and no longer following much of the news could easily limit the role in plays in your life thus walking away from it.

I'm not into Star Wars as I once was but I cannot walk away either. I at least want to see what happened to the NJO era Knights and everytime I try to leave they give me another question I want to see answered. I doubt I'll ever be able to walk away.

I've walked away a couple of times in the past. At least one of those lasted for a stretch of several years, during which I actually forgot it existed for a while. But as it stands, no, I'd never walk away permanently. There's still far too much out there that has gone unexplored, so many possibilities for great tales in the future. Someday they'll be covered, and until they are, I'll be keeping up with the rest of it.

Attack of the Clones was released May 16, 2002. Star Wars: Republic covered the Clone Wars starting Jan 22, 2003. What's the next big Star Wars project? Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Fall 2008.

I'm not as obsessed as some fans, but SW has been a big part of my life and I don't see myself walking away from it anytime soon.

Oh, I am contemplating it, to a degree. I utterly loathe everything I have heard about the new series, and with the idiotically high powers in The Force Unleashed, RPing will be a nightmare, because people will say "Well, you could do it in Force Unleashed!"
So I'm on the verge of saying "Stop the fandom, I want to get off."

I think it would be impossible for me to "get off" Star Wars. I've loved it since I was about 6 years old, and when I started my teenage years I kinda drifted off because it's hard being a teenage girl completely inlove with SW. Then I got KOTOR when I was like 14 or 15, and fell right back in till this very day.
It sucks, because I love it so much I cannot dissaprove of anything. I mean, it was like watching the Simpsons slowly go downhill and get all family friendly. I just hope SW doesn't sink that deep.

I walked away from it completely. Used to be obsessed and one day it just wasn't that much as I use to think of it. I came back now to see if the people I used to spend a lot of time are here and to troll a bit around (just kidding ofc). Trust me,anybody can walk away, it's just a matter of wanting/not wanting to go away.

In my years which are many I find that I take breaks. I have never walked away and never will. I have learned there are far more important things in life through fasting and praying. My kids enjoy Star Wars and so do I.
We are all waiting for "The Clone Wars" to hit theaters. Then the t.v. shows.
As a family man I'm glad there is Star Wars to watch with them because Lord knows there's enough garbage on as well.

I'll get sick of Star Wars every once in a while, and just move on to something else for a while. But then I'll watch one of the movies again and become hooked again. So I think i could walk away from it pretty easily, but I don't know if I could do it permanently.

If they're going to stick to canon, you can simply point out that game mechanics aren't canon. There's also the precedent set by the old Clone Wars cartoon, which Lucasfilm said was exaggerated in terms of Force use. My assumption is that we'll eventually hear something similar for TFU.

My obsession for Star Wars will never desert me and coming to the JC daily reinforces that fact. Sure I have love for different fandoms, but it won't affect how much I care for the galaxy far far away. I'll definitely be there opening night when Clone Wars comes out.
