I have always wanted to put together SW Legos and have not ever had the chance. Mom and I passed a Lego store in the mall the other day and we decided now was a good time. So I purchased the Anakin Jedi Fighter kit and brought it home. I looked at it for a few days, lol'd at the "Ages 7-12" on the box and then worried that it would stump me.
When I was younger I remember having Lego horses but my adventures consisted of making them have a pasture (1 giant green lego piece) and fences. Similar to this picture:
So this thread will be my story with legos. Feel free to share your own so I don't feel like a complete idiot when they stump me.
(more to come later, photobucket is down!)

I'm not that great at LEGO's . . . just that my cousin is much better than I am.

Ok, finally got the pics up. Here is the box.
For those that don't know, they give you pieces separated in bags. And then tell you to separate the colors. Not sure why they don't just come that way, but oh well.
This made me laugh. You can't see well, but it is showing that you should not have the pieces in the grass, but instead neatly on a table.
Then disaster strikes!
More later!

Just remember the cardinal rule, sey ... you need to be at least 10% smarter than any inanimate object you wish to use.

First things first:
Artoo!!!!
Then Anakin!!!!
I put pieces together and it looks like the picture!
Kinda looks like a landspeeder...
This next bit was the bane of my existence. I think it took me a half hour to figure out what I did wrong. [head_desk]
These three pieces needed to fit together and it was just a little bit off so the long piece did not slide into the hole.
Turns out I had something backwards and once I flipped it around, voila! It worked!

Ah! Lego! I used to get those a long time ago and now I've started recently getting them again.
My favorites are the Aquanauts etc, Pirates, the original mission to mars, Samurai and Ninjas, and, of course, Star Wars.
I recently got the Imperial Dropship and the Rebel Scout Speeder so I could have a bunch of stormtroopers and Rebel troopers.
I plan to get the General Grievous Starfighter next.
Good luck on the Anakin Starfighter!

I'm going to have to rebuild some of my models, they got kinda damaged when I moved back in with my parents.
I look forward to seeing more of this thread.

Ah, the memories.
Legos were, by far, my favorite toy growing up. I had tons of them - actually, still do, upstairs in a bunch of different boxes. Never had too many SW legos, though, as they didn't start coming out until I was a bit past the normal age for Legos. They were awesome, though, so I probably hung on to them longer than most people. I do have the X-wing and destroyer droid sets, though, still assembled and in my room - one on top of my chest of drawers (the X-wing) and one on top of a bookcase (the DD). I always was into modifying the sets I got, though, so the X-wing has a swiveling dual-laser cannon underneath the nose.
Best recent Lego moment was going over to my sisters house to spend time with my nephews and niece, and the two boys wanted me to play Legos with them, building various custom starships. Hence, now whenever I get to pick what my parents are giving them for birthdays/Christmas, its SW legos, or at least nice Lego sets if the store doesn't have any good SW ones. I'll give them small SW lego sets myself, since my budget's a bit tighter
Look forward to seeing this take shape!
