I think this thread needs to head back to page one.
As the original creator of this hallowed thread back in Classic Trilogy, I agree (I'm so egotistical, har har). As far as LOTF, all I can say is they better not do anything stupid like they did with my second favorite SW character of all time, Mara Jade. 
Though for those who are interested in jumping onto the EU money train, apparently a 800 page hardback of every Luke Skywalker comic ever published will be coming out around Christmas time this year.

Luke is the Best of The Best He is my favorite and always has been
He is good at redeeming people has a pure Heart and its just awsome beyond words
As Far as what is next I think Luke is going to really have to deal with Mara's death and being alone again. Hopefully he will not let this destroy him With Mara being gone and his nephew to the dark side its hard to say. I think he will really learn the scope of his power next and how deep it does go and I to would like to see Jacen get redeemed but i doubt it. It will either be Jaina or Luke that will redeem him i hope.

Nice avatar, KaraJadeKim. As for the close of LOTF, I don't know quite what to say. Without spoiling what happens, I'll just say the story was quite disturbing. Definitely not a "light" novel by any means. The last SW novel I looked at being so dark was Shatterpoint (and for whatever it matters, I only listen to audiobook adaptations, so novels without audio adaptations, e.g., the Darth Bane books and the Death Star novel, I've unfortunately not experienced).
Inty Edit: I haven't read Invincible yet, and I don't want to be spoiled. So, I'd appreciate it if you can follow the forum rules regarding spoilers: Two weeks after the release of the material, spoilers may be posted in this forum in Highlight To Read format, and must remain in Highlight To Read format until the material has been released for four weeks.

I've yet to read the final book of LOTF just yet but I'm really not sure what to think about what I've heard. When the spoilers came out for the other books I had a reaction one way or the other but with what I've heard about how Luke is written I've just no idea what to think.
There are aspects that have left me scratching my head and wanting to find out the truth for myself.
I think the only thing I've heard about the book that I've had a positive reaction about is when Luke puts Fett in his place and thats somthing I can't wait to read because as much as I love Luke I hate Fett just as much.
In other news anyone seen the cover for Luke Skywalker and the shadows of mindor?

Sorry about that. Thought I was being cautious as was; I wasn't aware of the additional two and four week policies. Hope you enjoy, or at least survive, the book.

Awesome cover! I remember seeing the artwork at CIV and loved it. Although for some reason Luke seemed a bit too overly focused/angered in his facial expression for me. Nevertheless, I love the image of Luke in a X-wing suit wielding the ROTJ lightsaber.

Quick question. Not too long ago, I was watching AOTC and noticed something that I hadn't before. In the scene after Anakin kills the Sandpeople and is complaining to Padme about Obi-Wan and wanting to be the most powerful Jedi ever, the ship in the garage-like room behind Anakin looks exactly like Luke's landspeeder from ANH.
Am I right in this observation? Have others pointed this out before or am I just imagining things? Personally, I'm surprised I'm just noticing this now since I've usually taken pride in being aware of the many parallels in AOTC to the OT films (though admittedly, I'm ever picking up on new parallels within the films of the SW saga, which is one of the things I like most about SW -- it's potential to be seen and thought about in new ways and angles).

I wouldn't be surprised if it was Luke's landspeeder given that the Lars were far from wealthy. I could easily see Owen giving Luke an old landspeeder and keeping the newer one for himself and Beru.

Yep, I had seen an art piece of it awhile back. I like the cover, though I wish they had gone with classical robes instead of an X-Wing flight suit.
Also, apparently Lucas has admitted that Star Wars is partially Luke's story.
"I get asked all the time, 'What happens after "Return of the Jedi"?,' and there really is no answer for that," he said. "The movies were the story of Anakin Skywalker and Luke Skywalker, and when Luke saves the galaxy and redeems his father, that's where that story ends."

I saw that qote, Lucas also stated that the EU means nothing to him, well cept a cash cow! I agree about the classic Jedi robes, still its a cool cover
