finally, it's great to get exicted about a James Bond film again. I kinda felt that after Tommorw Never Dies, I kinda lost interest in the Brosnan films, they were good, but not great bond movies.
With Casino Royale and now Quantum of Solace, I think Craig has the chance to be the best Bond since Connery and this is coming from someone who liked all the Roger Moore Bond Films, well, even A View to A kill, that probably has to do with the fact that A View to A Kill was the first Bond movie I remember seeing in the theaters.

If cursed means "blessed to become a phenomenal film," then I hope this movie is full of voodoo.
The title makes perfect sense given the contents of the trailer, imo.

I'd bet Brosnan is very jealous of where this franchise is headed, since he all but begged and pleaded to take the series in this very direction, long before the Bourne series made it allegedly acceptable. Don't you just love how the cold, vengeance-fueled Bond that everyone "hated" in Timothy Dalton with License To Kill (or The Living Daylights, still the most "real" and complicated spy story in a Bond film since From Russia With Love) is now considered hip and cool?
Granted, it's not about the "directon," but the quality of the film. Martin Campbell made two vastly different 007 films, and they are both two of the best non-Connery Bonds ever. The key is keeping the characters grounded and intelligent, and making the action logical enough to follow and enjoy. Bitter pill that Campbell never got credit for either of his two rejuvenations of this series.
In a just world, he would have become the new Terrance Young after Casino Royale.

Oh, I agree- ever since CR came out, I've been saying it's ironic that they started making the kind of Bond movie Brosnan wanted to make only after Brosnan left the franchise.

I really like Pierce Brosnan, but I'm not convinced he could have handled the heavier drama. He has excellent comic timing which served him well in the series, but he never completely sold me on the more serious side.

Times change. Action films were much sillier in the 90s than they are today. These days, grittiness is the standard.

I think Brosnan could have pulled it off- he just didn't get a chance to show much of that acting muscle in the Bond movies he was in.

Having viewed that trailer several times now today, I can say that I was not expecting that level of kinetic energy from Marc Forster. Sold.
Watching the trailer, I thought, for one split second, that M said, "Find me Bourne." Given the tone and style of the trailer, this surprised me not at all. (Just imagine if Brian Cox was M.)
So the guy from Diving Bell is the big baddie? This appears to be the plan. Or at least, he's the most prominent member of this newly formed "SPECTRE"-type agency. That Gemma Arterton nude-shot seems pretty hardcore even for a Bond film; I'm surprised they put it in the preview. Love the reveal of the big-ass gun as he walks up that hill.
From a technical standpoint, I like that they are hitting all the points right, even with the McQueen/motorcycle-thing (my spouse even commented how much Craig looked like McQueen at times in Casino Royale, back when that flick opened).
That trailer rocked, but is there any particular reason why Jeffrey Wright has neckbeard?

Oh heck yeah that looked awsome. Even better if you see the German version -- the opening date is Nov 6, not 7. For once it pays to live here!
As for Brosnan, I have no doubt he could have played the harder colder Bond.
