Public Enemies. It will be interesting to see what happens with this movie, come award season. With the expansion of the Best Picture category, I think that this film has an excellent chance of being nominated.

Henry Fool.

Has anyone else seen this? It's... amazing. thinking
Yes. It's far from my favourite Hal Hartley, though. I much prefer Amateur or Trust, though to be fair, I've only seen Henry Fool once.

Last films I saw were:

L'appartement: I watched this for the third time recently; good, but the ending is so cynical you'll want to throw something at your TV.

Gone Baby Gone: good film. Casey Affleck is very good, and his brother does well with the directing duties.

The Hangover.

Funniest movie I've seen this year.

The Proposal.

Not bad for a RomCom.

Public Enemies. I was greatly impressed by this film. I honestly didn't know what to think of it before going to the theater to watch it, but I'm really glad that I did. It was really well done, from the acting, to the stunts, everything.

Seconded. Public Enemies is this year's American Gangster.

Watched Zodiac again...this time after having read some articles about what really happened to see how detailed the film really is. Impressive though they take great liberties with certain things (as do most historical recreations). However I suggest not watching the film before walking home in the dark by yourself.

I watched +Inkheart+ last night. Pretty weak, and it wastes Helen Mirren's talent. sad

Barry Lyndon, far from Kubricks best film but it is his visual masterpiece, every shot is like a painting.

Just saw When Harry Met Sally for the first time. Good movie, interesting commentary on the whole 'can a man and a woman just be friends?' argument, and very comical.

Also, it's nice to see Carrie Fisher in a different role.

In theaters, The Brothers Bloom . Excellent, excellent movie. It had a fairly limited release, so amy boyfriend and I raced off to see it as soon as it hit our city. Absolutely loved it, although the end felt a bit rushed and sloppy. Would highly recommend everyone to see it if they get the chance.

Rented, Tokyo! . Three short films, directed by Michel Gondry (one of my all-time favorite directors), Leos Carax, and Bong Joon-Ho (director of the Host). Out of the three directors, I expected the least from Bong, but his was probably the best of the three. Gondry's was excellently done in a very Gondry-like fashion. Carax's on the other hand..... oh man. It followed the story of a terrorist leprachaun in Tokyo. So strange I almost liked it. Would highly recommend watching the film, even if it's just for novelty's sake.

Four episodes into Babylon 5: Season 2: The Coming of Shadows. By today's standards, the CGI work is primative, but the story is epic beyond words. The only downside that I've noticed so far is that Season 1: Signs and Portents had a much cooler and much more epic opening monologue. Sheridan's intro is a little bland compared to Sinclair's.

Transformers 2. Loved Optimus Prime HALOing out of the back of a C-17; hated the National Security Advisor To The President Of The United States attempting to shut down an obviously international project. (He doesn't have that sort of authority.)

Secret Window. It's an interesting film. Johnny Depp's character had the best secrets and really kept the film going along. John Turturro was wonderful and really stole some scenes in the film. I really enjoyed the film over all.
