Road House is an American classic. You gotta love it!
I just watched
"Shooting"
-- Monte Hellman's 1967 film starring a youngish Jack Nicholson. It was...interesting. Not sure that I really liked it. I had a hard time caring about or knowing any of the characters, and as a result I didn't understand why they did what they did.

Assassination of a High School President
, which is actually better than I expected it to be. Bruce Willis' small supporting part doesn't hurt, and I suspect most guys will find Mischa Barton's easy on the eyes.
The only bad thing is, it was released on DVD but not on blu-ray.

Fast Food Nation
- I usually like Richard Linklater's films, but this just didn't work for me. It was too sprawling and I didn't care about or believe any of the characters, and nothing was ever explored deeply enough. Should have been a documentary.

Oliver! Classic musical. Fagin, Sykes and the Artful Dodger were particularly solid.

Baghead
- A Duplass brothers movie about two struggling actor couples who go to a cabin for the weekend to write a screenplay for themselves to star in about a serial killer with a bag over his head terrorizing two young couples in a cabin in the woods -- the only thing is a real baghead shows up and starts terrorizing the couple for real. It's a hilarious and, at times, actually scary send up of films like The Blair Witch Project.
Keane
- a 2004 Lodge Kerrigan film about a father looking for his daughter, who was abducted a little over a year ago. He meets a young mother and her six year old daughter and strikes up a relationship with them -- the only thing is that his daughter may have never existed. This is a good one. It's told from a very subjective point of view, such that you feel like you're in the character's skin. It's a wild, chilling, at times disturbing ride -- but it's what cinema should (and can) be.

W. - Interesting take on the life of George W. Bush.
Silent Hill - Confusing at times but It's nevertheless one of the better films based on a video game I've seen so far.
Braindead (aka Dead Alive) - Still going strong after all these years.
Step Brothers - Absolutely hilarious.

The Party (1968) - I like Peter Sellers but I had a hard time enjoying this film.
The Strangers - Very good and interesting take om the "Home Invasion" genre.
Eden Lake - One of the most disturbing films I've seen. But It's also one of the most interesting and needed films about youth gone wild.
Eight Legged Freaks - B-movie that takes itself way to seriously.
Get Smart - Dull and predictable spoof about agents. Steve Carell is enjoyable though.
Eagle Eye - Interesting take on our surveillance society/mass surveillance.
