That's what i thought, specially when he asked the lady what year it was.

Did the parka give it away?
Yeah the podcast pretty much confirmed that Ben had just teleported and/or time traveled from somewhere else, and that it is no coincidence that he and the polar bear were in Tunisia.
This episode was great, probably the best of the season. "Live Together, Die Alone" is still the best Lost episode ever.

I dunno Jango -- I mean, I am every bit as convinced that "Live Together, Die Alone" was previously the best they had done. But this, I think, topped it.
It's a close thing, but considering one had two hours and the other had one, and that this one took us to an even DARKER place than where Desmond was alone in that hatch with Alex's unceremoniously brutal execution... yeah, this one wins out. It's a tough call, but this one had me too uncomfortable that there are actually people OUT there like that mercenary, and how the end of the epsiode sort of turned on the Desmond-Penny relationship.

I think "Live Together, Die Alone" is better because it has the single most powerful moment of Lost ever. It is when Desmond realizes that it was Locke that was pounding on the Hatch, and it flashes back to where he was contemplating sucicde. He hears Locke beating on the Hatch, and turns the light on. That single moment changed both of their lives. It led Locke to open the hatch, and it kept Desmond pushing the button. It is all capped off by Desmond's quote:
"You say there isn't any purpose, there's no such thing as fate. But you saved my life, brother, so that I could save yours."
You can't get any better than that.

(not really a spoiler, BTW, just figured Id highlight just to be safe)
Just interested why when Desmond tried to escape with the boat it led him back, but when Ben used it, he escaped.
Also not a spoiler but since DVader highlighted his, I will mine.

Agreed. The MSRP for a 13-episode season should be no more than $34.99, IMO.

Because Ben knew in which direction to sail the boat. See his instructions to Michael in the season 2 finale.

Calling it now. I foresee him saving or sacrificing himself for Hurley or for Claire.
I don't know ... to me Sawyer is the only one who could outsmart someone like Ben , he's the best of the losties at reading people and being able to con them and I think that's what he'll do near the very end to save the rest , he'll prob sacrifice himself doing so .

That's true; He tends not to have the same sort of "master plan" Ben seems to, but he's the only one other guy who seems capable of pulling off the same sort of manipulation.

I think having another major character die will be too much like last season's finale...but it would still be a pretty tough pill to swallow, as Sawyer is much more popular than Charlie. I see the producers sorta telegraphing it...but I don't see it happening. I think, if another major character dies, that it'll be Claire. She'll be the first major character to die after Charlie.

I tend to agree. Sawyer is part of the main character triad, hugely popular, and I just can't see them killing him off until at least the last season. Of course J.J. is notorious for insane twists, so anything is possible. I'd say it doesn't look good for Claire, but again I wouldn't be surprised if there is some other crazy reason Aaron is with Kate, and Claire is still on the island. I've pretty much just stopped trying to guess about this show.
