Good episode but not great. I do love how Bernard has been given more to do this season and the responsibility he's recived. It's good to see him become a more regular recurring character.

In 1977 George Lucas created the Star Wars Trilogy and changed the way we look at movies. In 1999 George Lucas created the Prequel Trilogy and changed the way we look at Star Wars. Frasier, Lost, and Whose Line Is It Anyway? are the best tv shows ever.

Ben certainly knows Aaron is Jack's nephew. By conjecture, Juliet probably know as well. If one of them don't tell him then he may encounter the ghost of his father in the presence of Claire at some point before the end of the season.
I was somewhat disappointed with this episode. I wanted to learn more about Christian and more about Locke/Ben/Hurley/Jacob. Next week promises to fulfill some of these wishes.
I was annoyed that Keamy and Co. survived the smoke monster. Perhaps they have some defense against it that we haven't seen yet - something only Widmore knows?
Of all the material that could have been dropped to squeeze the remainder of the season into fewer hours, the Jack appendicitis episode seems prime. I suppose it tells us Jack is wrong for trying to leave the island, but why isn't Kate sick? Or Juliet? Or any of the rest. They want to leave as badly as Jack. Maybe the island is finished with Kate and is willing to let her leave - she doesn't suffer post-island-syndrome.

Anyway, I agree, pretty lackluster episode. Im bored to tears with the Jack/Kate/Sawyer triangle already (even though I know were stuck with it for the long haul) but Im kind of glad that they seem to have wrapped up Jack's post-island affair with Kate seemingly in one episode.
Two things which may or may not have been mentioned: Was the Noreen that Kate said she was talking to the woman Sawyer conned and knocked up ? If so, Im assuming that Kate was doing something for her and or the baby.
Also, speaking of babies, Jack told Kate that 'youre not even related to him' when she said that Aaron was her son. Could that mean that Jack knows that Claire is his sister and that he's Aaron's uncle ?
I think Cassidy is the woman Sawyer got pregnant.

Yep, it is Cassidy Phillips, according to Lostpedia. Her daughter's (and presumably Sawyer's too) is named Clementine.

Well, where did we see Christian Shepard before, in the first episode of this season?

I'm VERY worried about Claire. Didn't Christian nearly lead Jack off a cliff once?

No, that was Dave who tried to get Hurley to jump off of the cliff.

Jack almost fell off a cliff way back in season 1 when he started seeing his father on the island. He was running after him and stumbled off a cliff but held on at the top. Then Locke showed up to pull him up.

I heard a really interesting theory that claire was actually killed in the explosion at the barracks and is now a ghost as weve seen in the past these visions and whatnot are physically tangible including next week Locke apprently makin nice with Horace Goodspeed and it would also explain why Claire isnt raising Aaron, but as Darlton implied, would still have a presence in the plot for the "next few years"

I have a theory. Since next week is Locke centric, features Locke being born, and Richard Alpert makes an appearance, I'm going to say that Locke was born on the island.

"Something Nice Back Home"
There's something you can always expect from an Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz episode and thats continuity. There was lot of continuity in the tenth episode of the fourth season of Lost. Jack is asked to look at a man who has a tumor on his L4 Verterbrae. Ben had his tumor on that specific vertebrae. Hurley says that Charlie asked him to tell Jack that he shouldn't be rasied by him. This of course pertaining to Aaron and Richard Malkin's prediction in Raised By Another. We journey back to the Staff Station, last seen in Season Three's "D.O.C." Some people will claim that this episode doesn't move the story along very well. That is in fact a complete falsehood.
There is something that Lost is going to lose because of the shortened seasons. It will lose episodes like this. We get to journey into Jack's head and expierence what's going on in there. This is a purely character-driven episode. Last weeks episode mixed plot and character together perfectly, and some episodes are there to solely advance the plot. We will be seeing many more episodes like this, so I'm going to treasure them while they last.
Undoubtebly my favorite plot line this episode was the Claire/Miles/Sawyer thread. It had a mix of humor, character, and drives the plot. I loved Miles being able to "hear" Danielle and Karl. Miles is deeply interested in Claire and Aaron and this intrigues me. Claire looks like she might go visit Jacob soon, if "The Beginning of the End" is any indication. Heck, she might team up with Hurley, Ben, and Locke.
The flashforwards this week were probably the weakest so far, but still very good. I'm more of a Skater(although I'm not a big fan of either side), so I was kind of disappointed to see Jack with Kate. Favorite part was when Jack went to see Hurley in the mental hospital. I'm going to call it first. Hurley is the person in the coffin.
The beach story really lacked tension because Jack had to survive. I did like seeing some character developments for Sun, Jin, Charlotte, and Daniel. Daniel is becoming one of my favorite characters on the show.
Overall, this was a great but not perfect episode that is setting up the finale very well. 8/10

Highlighted because corran2 did, but I don't think it's necessary. All speculation.
I dissagree with this mainly because no one else showed up to view whoever it was in there. And Kate actually looked offended when Jack suggested that she might be there. I'm still leaning towards Ben or Michael.
