I'm going to call it first. Hurley is the person in the coffin.

Highlighted because corran2 did, but I don't think it's necessary. All speculation.
I dissagree with this mainly because no one else showed up to view whoever it was in there. And Kate actually looked offended when Jack suggested that she might be there. I'm still leaning towards Ben or Michael.

I agree, because Hurley is pretty close with his family and has friends like Sun and Jack.

Plus, that coffin was way too small for Hurley to fit inside. Michael or Ben is my guess, or maybe Sayid.

My theory is still that it's Michael. That's why Jack is so affected by it being Michael, the island finally let him die.

In response on my theory who's in the coffin, Jack said that he didn't want to make Kate upset because of his visit to Hurley, and if he's gotten so depressed maybe he didn't eat anything and got thin. Also the article Jack tears out of the paper in "Through The Looking Glass" looks a lot bigger then a regular obituary, and that would make since because Hurley's one of the Oceanic Six and famous.

Pretty good epsiode.

And a certain fellow is one wretched specimen of humanity. Precisely a depiction of a sort of man who should be shot dead, dumped in a landfill and never be thought of again.

Another good episode, though it felt pretty much 100% like a setup for the 3 hour finale. And that last line may have given us an idea of why the the O6 seem unable to get back to the island.

The whole reasoning of Hurley being with Locke right now seems a little sloppy though. Ben suggests Hurley can find the cabin only for Locke to not need him after all...?

Locke is special. It's been under the radar for a bit now, what with Locke playing camp at New Otherton, but this episode reinforced that in a big way.

The comic that Alpert showed Locke:

And my own thoughts, reposted from my LJ (apologies if they're jumbled):

"Destiny, John, is a fickle *****" - Ben

Where do I begin after the latest episode of LOST? I suppose at the beginning (and I mean that literally). It's clear now that John Locke has been watched since birth, due to his being "special." Richard Alpert's attempts to reach him readily proved that much. What is most intriguing though, is the role Matthew Abbadon plays here. I thought for sure that he was in opposition to the Hostiles/Others, but then why is he the one manipulating post-paralysis Locke into position to end up on the island, just as Alpert had been doing? Abbadon's already sinister presence has just taken a whole new depth here, folks.

Jack sure is trusting of the freighter folk for just finding out they were lying to him. "I think they want us to follow them!" Sheesh Jack, I'd at least be a lot less gung-ho about it. But perhaps next week they show that there is an actual plan. And how big of a SOB is Keamy, really? One of the joys of watching the finale will (hopefully) be Keamy biting it, a fate richly deserved since he killed Alex. I'm seeing how Michael might redeem himself though, I bet he is instrumental in either stopping the freighters and/or getting the Oceanic Six in position to leave the island. I'm also increasingly sure he's the man in the coffin from the end of Season Three, and that's why Jack is so upset. As another review I read put it "the island will have finally let him die"

But the main event of this episode revolved around our unlikely Three Musketeers: Locke, Ben and Hurley. First off, how hilarious were Ben and Hurley together? Loved that moment at the end when Hurley split his candy bar for Ben to share. Locke took center stage tonight as the main "special" one on the island, and this was proven when he first met Horace Goodspeed in his dream, then finally found the cabin. And of course, who did he meet in the cabin? None other than Christian Shepard, who "spoke" for Jacob. Also, Claire was there too, but seemed really whacked out. My theory that she's really dead was not disproven at all by this. Really though, it was a great atmospheric scene in the cabin. And what exactly does "move the island" mean?! My mind reels...

Overall, a much better effort than last week's somewhat slow episode. I would've preferred more time with the cabin, but seeing Richard again and seeing how far this story really goes back more than made up for it. Events are clearly in motion now, and it looks like it's about to hit the fan. I cannot wait. I'll give this episode an A-.

That probably explains how the Eko's plane made it to the island. The island was closer at that time.
