But hasn't each season finale done that? Season 1's finale was the hatch, and season 2 focused on the hatch. Season 2's finale was the Others, and season 3 focused on the Others. Season 3's finale was the freighter crew, and season 4 has been about the freighter crew.

Exactly. My guess is that S5 will focus on the Oceanic 6 trying to get back to the island, and will also show how those that remained on the island survived. Not anything new, but I'm sticking with it.

It will probably to a certain extent: everything to do with the freighter is pretty much done now except for the fact Desmond and Michael are on it. If Keamy dies, that whole plot is done: the leaders were Naomi, Keamy and the Captain -- and 2 of those 3 are dead, with the last headed to the Island for a big showdown.
It may be that Frank may die since his purpose may simply have been to be a pilot and add the logistical component of "the chopper" to the story. But the other 3 (Miles, Charlotte and Daniel) have not been played out fully yet.

Yea I think that the three of them will definitely be on it next season. I get the feeling that Miles stays behind, too. I think that the island calls to him, too, but in a different way than it does for Locke or Ben.

I think the main four (Daniel, Charlotte, Frank, and Miles) will be involved in S5.
I sometimes wonder how the show would be different if say Eko's actor (forget his name) didn't wish to be written off the show.

I'm not so sure Frank will be back next season. Of the "main four," he's the only one who is credited as a guest star. The other three are in the main cast with Matthew Fox, Michael Emerson, etc. May mean nothing, but it's something I've thought was odd before.

Yeah; Frank doesn't really have any "hook" to the show so far other than being the pilot, and the guy who was supposed to be flying 815.
He is possibly expendable.
