The Oceanic settlement must have been huge. At least 8 figures(if not 9) given Sun's ability to buy the controlling shares of a massive company. Or the writers just ****ed up.

Yeah, that crossed my mind.
But then it occurred to me that Hurley might have loaned her the difference in money -- or in fact, just given a lot of it to her. Might explain why he was in Korea in Sun's Ji Yeon flash forward.

I could see Michael sacrificing himself so the O6 can get off of the island, and I can also see Jin doing the same, too (which Im really, really hoping doesnt happen).
As far as Desmond goes, he has to live at least long enough to see Penny running toward him on the beach...and to watch helplessly as she's shot in the back by Ben.

Judging from how Sun spoke to her father last night, it sounds like Jin is really dead. I bet he dies on the frieghter and Michael is in the coffin.

It's still up in the air, I think. Plus, amybe Sun just thinks he's dead.
I think he's alive; here's why:
The setup for season 5 is clearly going to be for the Oceanic 6 to go back to the Island. Clearly by now Jack has motivation to go back -- we have yet to see it, but a lot of it should be cleared up by the finale. Hugo also seems to be motivated to go back by the time Jack is in his state.
Sayiid currently has Ben to bring him back to the Island.
That leaves Kate, Aaron and Sun. Aaron will go where Kate goes by this point, and it seems as if Kate's motivation to want to go back to the Island will be something set up to resolve in one of the first few episodes next year. Jack's going to end up persuading her; and considering we know Sawyer's still on the Island, there's an open door right there.
But what about Sun? Why would Sun ever possibly want to go back to the Island where her husband died? Seems to me she'd be naturally right behind Desmond in never wanting to set foot on it again.
Unless... her husband wasn't dead, of course.

I still wonder who are the other two people who supposedly survived the crash and why it is decided on eight and not simply the six that make it back to the mainland.
I wasn't convinced the world believed Aaron to be Kate's biological son until now.

Well it depends on how she was captured... I don't remember, but was there any sort of piece filmed where it would be likely some authorities in Australia might speak up and say she wasn't pregnant when she left? And would it be the sort of thing someone would think to look up right away?
I wonder if that might also factor into Kate agreeing to go back into the island. Maybe a reporter looks up her status when the MArshal brought her in in Australia, and finds out she definately wasn't six months pregnant when apprehended.
It's clear now I guess why she didn't just say the baby was Claire's. If she had, that woman at Christopher Shepherd's wake wouldn't have been there to console Jack, but to take custody of her grandson.

Speaking of Christian, why wait 7 months after returning to the mainland to have his funeral ?

Or she's being backed by someone with even more money (Ben or Charles Widmore), and the Oceanic settlement is just a cover for a power play there.

could you tell me why .
I've been wondering why she didn't just say it was Claire's , why pretend it's her own.?

Wow, that was a good episode. I missed the first couple of minutes due to the Pens game, but it was great. Something big is going down on the freighter. I liked Sun's scene a lot, like most people. Either that or Christian's wake was my favorite scene.

Because she wants to be the one to raise Aaron.
Now why THAT is, I'm not quite sure. It could be for a few reasons, including just plain wanting to have kids. But if she had ever said the baby was Claire's, with Claire's family or the original adopted parents would have entered the picture to take him away. So that part is pretty clear.
How old would Aaron be in the Kate Trial and Jack Married life flashforwards anyway? Sayyid's flashforward when he encounters Ben is sometime in 2005, probably late in the year. It stands to reason that both Kate and Jack's flashforwards occur after that considerig how old Aaron seems by that point.

But why would the others go along with this ?
It's bigger than this , they've all agreed to the story that everyone else (cept 3 others) died in the crash for some reason, and claire can't be one of those other 3 for some reason , something BIG happens between now and the time they get rescued which demands that they lie about everything .
