dude, kazoo? thats awesome!
i took piano lessons when i was like 2 and continued for like 8 years, so i am pretty good at most things music related, my bass clarinet is still my favorite, but i play handbells with my church and lead the carolina mafia's snapping band.

I've played the cello for about 4 years now. I have a bass guitar, but I didn't have the time to devote to it because of how serious I got with my cello studies. I've been thinking about taking up the viola, too, since it's so similar to the cello.

I can play viola, violin and a bit of cello, in order of proficiency. I was first chair viola 6 of the 8 years I was in music classes.

their both string instruments, but isnt the viola more like a violin than a cello? i cant see how that would be a very easy transition.

I had guitar lessons when I was little and I was quite good at it, but I haven't played it for years now and can only remember 3 chords. I can also play the Magic Roundabout theme tune on the keyboard.

Cellos and violas have the same strings, A, D, G, C, while violins and basses have E, A, D, and G. Because of that, the fingerings are practically the same, though there are a few minor adjustments. Also, cellos have to learn tenor and treble clef along with bass clef, but we're normally taught tenor first. For me, at least, I understand tenor a whole lot more, so it'd be easier for me to translate onto the viola.

Violin since I was 6. Both fiddle style and classical, but mostly classical.
