To answer your question I believe Macross F will have 50 episodes.
More the overbearing blatantness of the message than the actual message itself, is what really bothers me. And thanks for the info. Yeah, I think I'll stick with Macross. Maybe try to get CG when I have the time to sit down and DL that many episodes.

Just saw some of the second episodes of this season.
Kanokon is still hilarious (imo), just because it's blatantly ecchi and doesn't care. Plus, Chizuru's odes to her boobs are hilarious
ItaKiss... I went into this fully expecting to drop it, and was actually pleasantly surprised. It had quite some good funnies. I'll stick with it for now.
Kurenai... I've stopped caring about the art. It's an awesome plot

I agree with you on Itakiss, haven't seen Kanokon.
Regarding Kure-nai, I actually like the art now and I absolutely enjoyed the interaction between the girl and Shin, really heart-warming. Also that old lady was awesome "So, you're into girls like that, Shin-chan".
Also have you seen the third episode Mnemosyne? Show getting better with each episode, shame that Shame Maeno died along with Rie Tanaka's character. ;( Its going to be less interesting without those two.
moosemousse posted: You forgot the Macross Plus Movie though, but it's just a retelling of the OVA but with a few differences. I have the boxed set which has both, I really recommend watching both as there are bits in each that aren't in the other.
You're right, I did forget that one. I believe there are more explicit (sex and violence) scenes in the film right? I've only seen the OVA, need to get my hands on the film, if I have the chance.
moosemousse posted: As for GitS, really? I guess I just assumed they were the same as they had the same characters and stuff.
There are some slight differences (no Tachikoma) and the headquarters of the team is based in Hong Kong in the movies, while its in Japan in the TV series.
Anyway I've been watching Mokke, its slow, sweet slice-of-life with two sisters encountering creatures (both good and evil ones) from Shinto religion. Can't believe I missed this show half year ago.

Eh surely you used with it by now, Planetes had it (same director/writer what a surprise), Gundam SEED had it and the worst contender GitS:SAC SSS had it as well. I still don't see the big deal.

Eh, every review I saw early on in its first season and people I talked to made it seem like CG was by far the worst offender. But if you say that it isn't...than I guess I'll check it out. Because it was either not noticeable in some of those series as you claim or it was so blatant that it was comical(GitS:SAC SSS).

Yea, that was hilarious

Just finished watching it. I really have to learn not to read spoilers...
It surprised me that it was set in 2011. I expected them to be set one per year, judging by the first two episodes. Still, it is getting really interesting. Plus Apos... what the hell is he? He can't be male, surely, otherwise the Seeds would have made him into an Angel.
But yea, shame about Maeno. Can't say the same about Rie Tanaka's character. They already killed her off once, bringing her back is annoying

It is, yeah. When Guld fights the X-9, in the OVAs it's a short fight and you don't see much, in the movie it's longer and you see Guld die horribly as he removes all the safety limiters.
I hadn't noticed the location differences tbh, and I thought that the Tachikomas were introduced between the two, like the new tachikomas that were introduced at the end of SAC2.

You know maybe because I'm not an American I'm less sensitive to those aspects but as an outsider I'd say GitS:SAC 2 is worse because they actually are and act like the USA (albeit a more corrupt and evil version). While when I look at the Holy Britannia Empire its only similarities I see with the USA are the fact that they're both based in the Americas and they both manage to occupy Japan. Besides they act and behave fundamentally different, HBE is basically a typical historical Empire (just pick one of them between the Roman and the Japanese one, they all fit the description), USA isn't like that though.
Although I do admit that the Japanese patriotism is worse in CG, but hey it makes an interesting story so who cares.
Ah well just my 2 cents.
Speaking of Code Geass, 2nd episode was awesome as was the second episode Macross Frontier. Those two shows are simply the best of the season so far, with Kure-nai on distant third.

But... the way she said tenshi-sama <3
BTW seen the first episode of Kyouran Kazoku Nikki? Very weird, highly amusing.moosemousse posted: I hadn't noticed the location differences tbh, and I thought that the Tachikomas were introduced between the two, like the new tachikomas that were introduced at the end of SAC2.
I haven't notice it either, I only read it on wikipedia I guess you can see the difference due to the city skyline, but they all look the same to me.

This discussion really is pointless, as while I kept posting stuff like that I was getting the first season from Box. Now to find time to watch it all so I can dive into R2.
Although Macross will be coming first in my "watch" lineup. I guess I'll just have to watch Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei in one sitting as well. I can't wait for summer catch up period.

Okay, I need some help. I'm just not breaking into the .mkv & .mp4 formats and I would like some help. The .mp4 of Macross F work fine on my VLC player. But I've tried to get Kurenai (and my Code Geass) .mkv's to run and the animation is either choppy(skipping frames) or just outright looks like it is fragmented and jumbled. Also, everytime I exit the player I get an error saying "Assertion Failed" about the microsoft C++ or something.
Any other players that might be better to play? Any help for what I could do to make the video run would be great.

Grab the K-lite codec pack and Media Player Classic. Works for me.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions, everyone. They helped me finally get the files running smoothly. Now to jump headlong into Chess Geass...I mean Code Geass.

I have the first two volumes of With the Light. I'm really liking it so far. It's interesting to see things from 'the other side'.
