There are two orders. The airing order (Kyon's order) or the chronological order (Haruhi's order).
Watch them both ways, it's easier. I watched them in Haruhi's order, but Kyon's order is slightly more fun (if only because you get to see Mikuru-beam first)
They both have "endings", so you don't need to worry about that, though Kyon's order's ending is probably a more exciting one

To Cobranaconda you listen. Anyway there's only one filler episode, at least an episode that wasn't based on the books so your friend is kind of wrong on that.

I really enjoyed the Nana live action movie but I had trouble getting into the manga and anime due to the art style, I read the manga all the way up till volume 12 but I stopped because it was getting a bit too soap opera-ish for me.
Sundome, is a manga that's very ecchi, plenty of fanservice almost pornographic its about two highschoolers: a guy and a girl who have a master-slave relationship, and the guy isn't allowed to ejaculate unless the girl says so. Its not bad or anything but not something I would suggest to people either.
*ahem* Anyway I haven't read Kaze no Hane nor have I read one volume mangas, I tend to avoid them.

It seems like they're killing off Lelouche's harem and I really liked Shirley

Macross Frontier ep 13 was THAT episode. Awesome.
Code Geass: I predict that Shirley will be replaced by "Nani mai hunnii" in Lelouch's harem. But, yeah, I liked her too. Oh well, now that punk, Rolo, has to die.

I fully expected her to die when I was half way through the episode but I assumed Orange-kun would do it, not Rolo. His fake brother complex has just reach a new height.
Anyway new season has started, so far only Sekirei (harem with oversized breast women *yawn* ) and Strike Witches (Gonzo fanservice show aimed at lolicons) fail to impress me. I really enjoyed the first episode of Birdy the Mighty Decode (probably my favourite so far), and the backgrounds in Mahou; Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto: Natsu no Sora were absolutely stunning.

The Sekirei manga is actually pretty good. The anime doesn't seem too bad to me

I knew you'd like Sekirei Cobra. To be fair I don't like the harem genre, unless its something like kimikiss or ef e.g. based on a harem game but done differently.

The only time I actually like the harem genre is when the bloke ends up with more than one character, but because that virtually never happens, I'm content to watch/read until the end, whereupon I'll complain bitterly about how more is better

The new season has started, so far I'm enjoying most series although nothing really stands out so far but some of the shows really appeal to me such as Natsume Yuujinchou or Natsu no Sora.

Bassil! Have you been checking out Bonen no Xamdou? Its a new series from Bones, it looks and feels like Eureka 7. It looks promosing after watching three episodes and the animation looks great so far (although I'm sure it will drop in quality in the coming episodes )

No, I've had a full plate with Code Geass and Macross Frontier lately. Also been watching Soul Eater when I remember to download it. Along that line, Excalibur is the best character ever.
But I'll look into that series too. Anything to give me more to watch at night.

Macross is being awesome, I love it. I've not been able to watch it much though, we got a puppy at the weekend and I have to spend all day with it. I can't wait until I move into my own place so I can spend more time watching anime.

Are you referring to everything up to and including episode 18 of season 2? He is losing people he cares about at an alarming rate. At least Kallen seems firmly on his side still.
