Day Break seems to be doing ok in the ratings, and it's a great show, too!

Yeah, 3 Lbs did even worse than Smith, which it replaced.

Daybreak is also tanking in the ratings, worse than The Nine. Good thing it's only 13 episodes anyway.

Worse than The Nine? Ouch! too bad, cause it's a really good show. Hopefully they let it finish it's run. It appears that shows on ABC on Wednesday's that aren't called LOST don't do so well.

Yeah, it's not doing well. But I think that it's being called a miniseries, so I suspect that they'll be letting the 13 episode run go.

Yea, even if it is doing as poorly as you say it'd still be foolish to do otherwise, not to mention a slap in the face to viewers who are enjoying it and want to see some kind of resolution. Apparently that's a big reason why alot of these new serial dramas arent doing well this season, mainly because theyre getting cancelled before they have a chance to develop an audience, greatly angering fans who have invested time in them. According to what Ive read that's why alot of viewers have stayed away from shows like Vanished, Kidnapped, The Nine, etc. At least NBC decided to throw viewers of Kidnapped a bone and let it play out its 13 episode run, even if it was in the Saturday night graveyard and online.

Oh, and if anyone cares, here is some sweeps info. And 30 Rock has gotten a full season order, too.

Yeah, ever since 24 (and especially LOST) there have been a ton of serialized dramas popping up that only last for 1/2 a season (if that). I think most fans don't want to invest in a show that they can't miss a single episode of without being totally lost. Personally, I prefer those shows. I don't even watch any sitcoms any more (except My Name Is Earl, when I get the chance) because you can watch any episode any time and it makes no difference (see: Seinfeld, Friends, The Simpsons). Presonally, I like a big story.

Same here. That's why 24, The Wire and Lost are among my favorite shows.

There's a flipside to that coin, though. I didnt bother with Heroes after I missed the first three or four episodes because I felt I would have been lost, and to get on board now, well....

That'd probably be your best bet - watch the DVD this summer then jump on board in the fall.

Speaking of which, DVD's are another reason some shows lose viewers. Especially 24 and LOST. I have read a in a lot of places about people who just wait for the DVD because they're scared to miss an episode. That's a good idea, except for the fact that if too many people do that, the show will get cancelled for low ratings.
