The ratings for Friday Night Lights haven't been that good and that's a shame. It's a well acted well written series.

Heroes will be the breakout star this season. It has built up so much anticipation, and the casting is excellent. Plus you just have to love the cliffhangers, which are already being loved by fans. Even people who were questioning this series have fallen in love with it. And it makes them crave more. Can't wait to pick up this series when the DVD hits stores next year. The characters have you loving them, the musical score is great. Everything is there. And there's someone for everyone to fall in love with. Right now Peter is my favorite character.
Heroes is also well paced, much more I can say for the other serialized dramas of its time. It puts you on the edge of your seat, and it keeps you there. Heroes never has a dull moment, which is one of the things I love about it. It sets up mysteries and it solves them, it doesn't waste time beating around the bush, and it never feels repetitive.
The Nine looks promising, the timeslot certainly is there, it's no breakout, but it has promise. I can see this show going for a good three, even four seasons. The Nine is a great series, though it's certainly lacking with some of the characters. I may stick around.
I love Shark, I dunno what it is, but that show rocks. I can see this going for as long as the actor sticks around. The title character has the PERFECT casting. James Woods really is loving this role, and you can tell it. Stark is a great character, and the supporting cast is there just the same. You can really love this guy.
The Vanished is okay, but I won't be sticking around. Not only is it against Heroes, but Heroes is just WAY BETTER than Vanished is. The show is slow-paced, and the mystery has already lost its fire. Compared to its rival of 8PM for me, Heroes wins out. This show has lost everything, but I knew it would from the beginning. It fails on so many levels, I'm not even curious to find out what happens next. Vanished is the type of show you fall asleep to. And I have better ways to spend that hour.

Vanished is breathing its last breaths and will probably gone within weeks. As far as breakouts go, Heroes and Ugly Betty are definitely looking to be the front runners, at least for now.
In other news, Jericho has received a full season order by CBS, and NBC is bringing Medium back earlier than expected to fill the vacancy left by Kidnapped, which has been put out to pasture on Saturday nights. CBS is also rushing 3 Lbs. onto the schedule ahead of its original mid-season debut in order to fill the spot left by the already cancelled Smith. Both shows will join the schedules on Nov.14th and 15th respectively.

I don't watch Earl, but The Office is hilarious. That has got to be hands down the greatest comedy in years. And it still owns the airwaves, IMO.

Earl is hilarious, and Jason Lee is a comic genius. Unfortunatly, it's up against Survivor and no longer airs on any Canadian channels, so I've only seen 2 episodes this season.

Four shows have been given the 'full-season' ticket:
"Heroes", "Ugly Betty", "Brothers and Sisters" and "Jericho."

RE: The next hit TV Series?
Id originally thought that Brothers and Sisters would get the early axe, if only because of its alleged mediocrity and all of the reports of the show being a virtual train wreck behind the scenes early in productions. I guess the Desperate Housewives lead-in certainly didnt hurt.

RE: The next hit TV Series?
Really starting to lose interest in
The Nine
. The teaser at the beginning, before the opening credits, was interesting because they showed more of what happened in the bank, but the rest of the episode was boring as hell. If things don't pick up by the time LOST finishes it's first 6-week run, then I'm out.
Heroes
, on the other hand, is quickly becoming one of my top 3 fave shows on TV, with LOST and 24.

Yeah, I think I'm pretty much done with The Nine.
I too am impressed with how quickly Heroes is becoming on of my favorite shows.
