In response to the cult movie thread, I've decided to create a cult TV thread. Which shows do you think are worth of cult status. My picks are Mission Hill, Dilbert and Futurama.
Mission Hill: With executive producers from The Simpsons and the chief animator from King of the Hill, Mission Hill had a great pedigree. It also had a unique look, funny characters and snappy writing. It could have been the show to dethrone The Simpsons. Now its relegated to very early morning reruns, despite its small but strong fanbase. Definetly a cult hit.
Dilbert: Based on the comic strip and featuring the voice of Daniel Stern, Dilbert is well known to fans of the comic strip, but not well known to the general public. Their loss. Also a solid candidate for cult status.
Futurama: Matt Groening. 'nuff said.

Never even heard of "Mission Hill". It might be more to the point if they had writers from "The Simpsons" or "King of the Hill", though.
Never seen "Dilbert"
"Futurama" was a very good show with very bad luck.

Actually they did and it shows in the writing.

War of the Worlds
Plot Outline: Humanity must resume its war against the Martians after they revive after decades of hibernation after their defeat in the 1950's.
Plot Synopsis: At the end of the 1953 film "War of the World", earth is saved from alien invaders when they are apparently killed by common bacteria. However, what if the aliens weren't really dead? In "War of the Worlds" the aliens from the 1953 invasion are brought out of suspended animation when radiation kills the infecting bacteria. Now the aliens launch a genocidal war against an unsuspecting Earth, using their ability to take over human bodies to allow them to move freely. Dr. Harrison Blackwood teams up with microbiologist Suzanne McCullough, computer programmer Norton Drake, and army Lt. Colonel Paul Ironhorse to save the world from this alien menace. In the second season, Harrison and Suzanne are joined by mercenary John Kincaid, who help them fight in a post-apocalyptic urban wasteland against a second wave of invaders dedicated to the death of all life on earth.

^I've heard bad things about it, but I've never seen it.
A couple other cultist shows that I'd throw in there - Firefly, has or had a big cult following. I'd say probably the same thing with Arrested Development.

I thin I've heard of this show. It used to run on Space in Canada. Is it any good?

"The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.": Probably the best thing Bruce Campbell has ever been involved with. Starts off as a western, and then midway thru the first season took a bizarre twist into the realm of sci-fi. Actually aired on friday nights during the first season of "The X-Files", BEFORE the X-files (in the 8pm timeslot). If it weren't for Brisco, i probably wouldn't even have started WATCHING the X-Files.
"American Gothic": tremendous horror-show that just never found it's following. I saw the show's entire run on DVD the other day. I just might have to pick it up.
"Harsh Realm": In just 3 episodes, it showed more potential then Chris Carter's more successful "Milennium". This show was headed places.
"Twin Peaks": NO list of cult tv can be complete without this masterpiece by David Lynch. That is one damned fine cup of coffee,
"Push, Nevada": Tremendously quirky show that was slightly similar to "Twin Peaks", only not as twisted. Lasted only 7 episodes, if i recall, and i STILL have all 7 on tape.

Police Squad.
The opening credits had more laughs than complete seasons of other comedy shows.
They were also much funnier than the movies.

" Wiseguy "
Its so ahead of its time that, with the exception of cable networks HBO and Showtime, TV networks STILL havent caught up to it.

The Cape was a pretty good show. I wish they'd bring that one out on DVD or at least syndicate it and put it back on the air.

I've heard of that show. The Simpsons did a pretty good send of it a few years ago.

This is from the TWOP blog, "Brilliant But Cancelled":
Titus:Crass Classic
Yup, I have seen some episodes of this show, and Keach, as Titus' dad, Frances Fisher (as his mom), and the red-headed kid who played his brother (he is, as Titus says, still waiting to be bitten by a radioactive spider) are all brilliant.
